Please note that DEC STD 184 is being rewritten but I wanted to publish
this important change to the Release process.

Part numbers issued via a PNRF (Part Number Request Form) are valid for
a three month period. At the end of that time if the Module Components
Group has not received both your pattern file and 2 master devices then
    the pattern number is inactivated.

In other words, if you request a 23class part number you must use it
within 3 months or you'll have to request another one.

Skip the extra paperwork (and $$$) and request only those numbers
you will use. Avoid claiming a whole block of numbers when yo'll use
    only a couple.

Hopefully I'll have a new release of DEC STD 184 released soon.

    Regards,
