This one is a great irritant to me. I watch all these wonderful
CD's being swapped or sold (for $10's, argh) and I can't get involved
'cause I'm on the other side of the pond.

Good one if you are on the correct side of the water and own a CD
    player.

I wonder if there is any chance of a UK one starting????

I think someone in DEC PARK II Computer Services tried this about
1-1.5 years ago, but don't think it took off in a big way. Ah yes,
it was Wilfred Van Haeran (sp?). Rick Wood might know something
about this. Conference could still be on one of the RDGENG nodes.

Anyway, how the hell do you come to have the time to read NOTES
    - shame on you!!!!

    David.

Nobody else has entered this yet, so I guess that I will....

A new conference has started up at OCTAVE::RADIO_RADIO,
the topic being alternative music and stations that play them.

What is alternative music? We're in the process of trying to
define that right now without using negative terms (i.e. music
which is NOT played on Top 40 stations).

Feel free to join in, and don't be intimidated by the number of
Massachusetts noters, the conference was originally called WFNX
after one of the local radio stations, but was expanded to include
anybody who has in interest in this music.

I'd just like to post a notice here to save myself further hassle.

If you do not like Heavy Metal, and want to access my conference
just to start arguements, don't bother.

As a co-Moderator of that conference, I will not tolerate people
trying to start arguements using immature debating tactics. Don't
waste your time in my file critizing the music that is discussed
there. Your note will not last long unless you debate in a FORMAL
    and LOGICAL manner.

    I've already had problems.

Thank you for your time, and good luck with this conference.

    /Peter Cook

This is a recently started conference I've just found. It announces
itself as being for "discussions on the aftermath of punk". It is quite
    US-oriented at present.

Hit KP7 to add it to your notebook.

they're welcome to delete this one.

RADIO_RADIO is off-line for now. The owners of the conference
has changed sites, leaving their old network addresses behind, and
and has yet to secure new ones for their machines.

No telling when they'll be back.

I know this isn't really related, but in response to a question in another
topic.....

I've been in touch with Graham Warnes who is the host moderator of the rugby
conference. He says that SHAWBY will no longer hold the notes conference, and
he is in the process of trying to get it moved to his own machine (I think) by
sometime next week.

In the mean time, if you'd like to give me a list of noters that you know read
the conf., I'll send a mail out explaining.

Cheers,

Matt.(co-mod of the deceased shawby::rugby)
