1307.0. "George Wham Bam'd Sony" by YUPPY::CONNELLA () Tue Jun 27 1995 16:50

Good news about George Michael- free at last.

I though Listen Without Predjudice was pretty classy and I'm looking
forward to his new stuff- so it's thanks to Stephen Spielberg..

Yep he's free, must have been a real b*mmer only earning a few million
    instead of xx+ million.

Yep. Apparently it's thanks to David Geffen and Steven Speilberg. First
release is likely to be that song he did on the MTV awards.

I thought this news might liven you up, Andrea!
1307.3ARRODS::WHITEHEADJMorgaine, take care of the babyTue Jun 27 1995 20:163
I think the only news Andrea would want to hear at year end is that
Take That are in HHL and are going to whisk her off to a sun-drenched
    beach.

I'm not a George Michael fan, but good luck to him!

Chris.

re.3 You're right Jane, if only....However a 'chat' with George Michael
would do in the meantime.. or perhaps I could get a lift from Hugh
Grant next time he's in town..

    Andrea.

I know this is probably the wrong place to enter this note but first of
all, the Rugby Conference went, and now I can't get into to Football !!
    What is going on ???

The only reason I entered the note into this particular conference was
because I recognised a lot of the noters from the football and rugby
discussions. Any inconvenience caused was purely intentional !!
    Probably !!!

Yeah, I know. This is crazy. SHAWBY appears to be dead, hence Rugby conf's
disappearance, but I'm not sure about footy.

Matt$investigating.

There is major reconfiguring of the SHAW cluster being undertaken at
the moment. Expect things to be unavailable for the next few
days/weeks. You could try modifying your entry to SHAWB2 but as I can't
get Notes running at all on that node I doubt if it will work. No
warning was given of anny of this :-(.

Any truth in the rumour that George Michael is going to tour with the
    remaining members of Queen?

He has been offered it and accepted it so far as I know.

BTW I predicted this when he stepped out on stage at the Mercury
Tribute gig. all those years ago.

Hmmm...the press release in yesterdays paper said that he hadn't and it
    wouldn't ever happen...

    interesting, eh? Or perhaps not.

I dont know, Old George always struck me as the type of bloke
who could slip into Fred's shoes and boxers quite easily.
Excellent grounding from that other nice chappie Elton.

Why not Queen featuring Georgie with Jason Donovan doing a
couple of songs, old Fred would be looking down with warm tingling
    sensation inside him. 8-)

I'm sure Freddy would have been more than happy to accomodate

In 'Wham! Rap 86' the background singers sound like they are saying D.H.S.S.?

I found a reference to D.H.S.S. on the web, but it did not explain what that
was.

Can anyone help?

1307.17CHEFS::WHITEHEADJGoldy in WonderlandTue Sep 26 1995 11:182
DHSS used to stand for the Department of Health and Social Security.
It's now just the DSS (Department of Social Security I think).
1307.18CHEFS::STRATFORDSSteer clear of the Zebra BrosTue Sep 26 1995 11:207
D.H.S.S. = Department of Health and Social Security. Now defunct since
it was split by the Iron Headbanger into the Department of
Health and the Department of Social Security.

Whams attempt to be political, obviously.

Heard what I think is the new single this morning - something with Jesus in
the title. It could have been, and probably was, done 5 years ago.

So, Andrea do you fancy him more or less than Take That?
1307.24CHEFS::CONNELLAFri Jan 12 1996 16:129
I've never actually fancied George Michael, i was more of an Andrew
Ridgley girl..infact I wasn't really into Wham, I first liked George
when he recorded A Different Corner and then thought Listen Without
Prejudice and Faith excellent, and still remind me of my first year at Uni
    cause that's all I played..

Anyway, Take That are *the* sex Gods....:)
