1291.0. "Post your Record Collection here!" by CBHVAX::CBH (Lager Lout) Fri May 05 1995 13:55

Prompted by another topic, post your record collections here, so we can
all get an idea of what you *really* listen to. No sneaky leaving out
the embarrasing ones! I will later, when I've updated mine...

Chris.

err...I don't think I've exactly got time to catalogue them all! 300 CDs,
400ish tapes, and 100 LPs will take a few months to type in...I'll do a general
type-of-thing, though..

later.

Yep, a friend wrote a programme to store information about all my (and his,
obviously) records etc., but I can never be bothered to type information in.
My cunning way of making sure that not all my stuff is nicked in one go is to
only bring 70 or 80 CDs to Reading, leaving the rest back home in the far safer
village of Penllergaer. Most of my tapes are (illegal, ok!) recordings of
stuff from the Swansea record library.

If someone nicked my CD collection, I'd head straight for Clifton Suspension
bridge, and end it all. I've spent all my teenage years building up an
embarrassing variation of stuff, and have spent a horrendous amount of (my)
cash (for a kid) on them...

Sorry for my blatently childish previous remark and as it's just about
the end of my lunch hour I'll go first with a brief resume which will
hopefully persuade you all that I do listen to some "music"

Abba Gold?? David Bowie- Changes Black- Wonderful Life
Crowded House- Woodface and Together Alone
REM OUt of Time and Automatic for
    John Lennon- Imagine
    Take That- all three
    Paul Weller- Wild Wood
Happy Mondays , Thrill and Belly thingies
    Cranberries- Everybody Else
U2- Auchtung, Live under a Blood red, Joshua Tree, Rattle and Hum

I suppose the most embarrasing ones are Syd Lauwrence Plays Glenn
Miller, Tubular Bells 2 (an unwanted gift) and several Bucks Fizz
    singles.

    Not too bad I hope

    Andrea.

Excuse me Andrea, but wasn't Syd Lawrence an England fast-bowler !!

What the hell is he doing making Glenn Miller covers !!

What the hell are you doing buying Glenn Miller covers !!

What the hell am I doing writing about Glenn Miller covers !!

Too many beers at lunchtime methinks !!

Ah Well, time to dig out that Dodgy album and get a bit of a groove
going in Dec Park D1 !!

    iAN.
1291.8ARRODS::WHITEHEADJThat's me in the cornerFri May 05 1995 19:067
I've got far too many singles, lp's and cd's to make a list of and
then type into a file. Honest. I've got 100's. And even if I did
bother to type them into a file, I wouldn't dare let you lot see it.
You can work out how bad my musical taste is from previous notes
    I've written.

    Jane.

Iron Fish by Motorhead? Bit of a typo there Chris. Conjures up
    endless comic imagery though. :^)

Anyway, come on you lot, let's see your lists, warts & all!

Chris.

Well, as others have said, it's a bit too much to try and type in, but I've got
"Spiritual Healing" by Death, and "Seasons in the Abyss" by Slayer next to
"Picturesque matchstickable messages" by Status Quo and "surfa Rosa" by the
Pixies. Also, there's "Masterpieces", "Forthcoming", "Cadmium", "SKY 5 live",
"Mozart" and "The great Balloon Race" by SKY! Paganinni's 24 Caprices sit
uncomfortably next to Tortoise Corpse...

Lemme guess, there wouldn't be any Acid Reign sitting even more
uncomfortably next to L'arlessiene would there?

    Chris.

Acid Reign? Give me some credit!
