Hmmm...really been getting into Nine Inch Nails recently. I have
    'Downward Spiral'....any other recommendations?

"Pretty Hate Machine". Definitely.

"Broken" and "Fixed" are Okay, with the stand out track being "Fist F**k",
which appears on both of them (I think).

"Pretty Hate Machine" has very few guitars in it - I think they only make a
significant appearance on "Head like a hole", which is a masterpiece. It's a
super album IMO. It's full of weird industrial-type noises, which are put to
chilling effect in some cases. Bloomin' marvellous.

I'd say Pretty Hate Machine is worth getting just for the 1st track, Head
Like a Hole, but the others are great, too.

The web reference in the basenote is worth looking at. I was surprised
that NIN seem to have released only two albums, but thousands of
    remixed singles/compilations.

Well, Broken was kindof an album. It has something like 8 tracks. Fixed was
supposed to be a remixed version of Broken, but there were some extra tracks on
it, I seem to remember. Pretty Hate Machine was out years ago, wasn't it? I'm
sure I bought it when I was in Tertiary College, which must've been 90-92...?

Downward Spiral's worth buying then is it?

p.s. listened to Weezer again last night, and have decided that actually, it's
blinkin excellent. er....Surfpop/grungular/indiesque-type stuff.

> Surfpop/grungular/indiesque-type stuff.

I heard them labelled as "post-grunge".

"post-grunge"?

er....what? Everything in the last 2 years (or at least since Cobain died)
could be labelled "post-grunge"!

Anyhow, I still reckon that "Surfpop/grungular/indiesque" gives a better idea
as to what they sound like!

Poptastic, mate. What right minded people would call their band `Weener',
anyway. Bloody weeners!

Chris.

Beavis and Butthead live!

It's "WEEZER", buttmunch!

I think Weener is better. Conjures up images of four sand-coloured
ground-hugging dogs with guitars (OK, 3, and 1 with a drum kit)
