| re -1 Which "esoteric" bands do you want to know about? How about
putting in a reply listing the bands that you don't know anything about
and then people can reply to that.

| RE 1165.1
A bit belated this but thanks for the listing.I must admit Friday looks
good as I've also been told Butthole Surfers and Bad Brains are playing
that day.Saturday looks a waste of time and Sunday may be quite
interesting.I think though I'll just buy a ticket for the Friday and
try to blag my way in the two other days.
Thanks again

Can anyone tell me where you can buy the one day tickets or do you
buy them on the day. I would normally go for the whole weekend but
only the Sunday really appeals to me.

You can buy them on the day for 20 quid or you can get them from your
local branch of HMV.

1165.8 | yes, lots of people!! | RDGENG::CROOK | Wings lifting tired feet | Thu Sep 02 1993 22:00 | 21 |
| Yes, lots of people! And on Saturday, I was one of them. It didn't rain at all,
which is unusual and must have disappointed all of the people who took their
waterproofs with them!
It seemed as busy and well-organised as last year, though I don't think the
selection of bands were as good.
I watched several of the stand-up comics and they were good. The last one,
Eddy Issard (sp?) was hilarious. I think a couple of them must have been on
the same trainig course: they both managed to mention The Chronicles Of
Narnia and ways to respond to people who turn up on your doorstep to sell
you religion and use spiel like "It says in the Bible..." (Answer: quote any
book back eg The Reading Phone Directory) [well, it was funny when they did it.
Must be my sense of timing].
I particularly enjoyed Blur who, for some obscure and unexplained reason, had
a number of table lamps and an old cooker on the set for their act.
I also saw Bivouac (sp?) who I'd never heard of before, and who were excellent.
Neal.
