This is the only place I can think of where there's *bound* to be someone 
who knows...  


Midnight Oil are as far as I know playing up the venue that used
to be known as the Town and Country this May.

Could anyone in here enlighten me with a few details such as 

the date?

where the 'eck town and country is (directions format would be nifty)

and what the town and country is now known as

    The date of May 9th springs to mind, as I think I heard this on Radio 1
    after they played the new single (and very excellent it is too).  The
    T&C is now called The Forum (hands up who thinks this sounds like a
    conference centre rather than a venue...) and is 5 mins up the road
    (turn right out of the station) from Kentish Town tube (Northern Line).
    
    Hope this helps.

Well, just found out, the 9th at the Forum was correct...... 
or the 8th maybe (the saturday)....
however it's just been cancelled - to be replaced by a 
place near charing cross, on the 29th of April now.

If the ticket office gets enough hassle they'll organise 
another gig too apparently... 

I'll see if I can get their number..

    I saw Midnight Oil at the T&C about five years ago and they wuz
    very good. My fave stuff is still the material from "10,9,8..."

Anyone know the number of the Astoria. I'd like to find out if they'll be playing
any other dates?

I saw them at Wembley 3 years ago during the Blue Sky Mining tour. Excellent
show except for the location. I needed a telescope to see the band.

I haven't got a fave album 'cos they're all good, and I play them all with the 
same frequency, in fact I think I'll get my walkman out and listen to 
10,9,8... now

I've only heard the single once, in a tired haze ( Was playing on the radio when
the alarm went off ) and it sounded good so it must be brill ;-).
Is there going to be a new album out soon?

Anyone got a discography.

I just got a CD of their 1978 album named Midnight Oil. Was it their first???
I'm playing for the first time as I type. Some excellent tracks.

Yet to get Earth + Sun + Moon ( It's my birthday in a couple of weeks )
There is also a Live Album, I saw in the States, but I didn't have enough dosh
to get it while I was there :-(

There must be at least 1 more album, as I haven't got a studio version of 
Armistice Day ( I have a tape of them at Glastonbury 1985(?)).

P.S. The unplugged show they did was excellent.

    Al,
    	The album you're missing is 'Place Without A Postcard', released
    around 1981. There's also an EP called 'Bird Noises' from about 78, I

    What singles have they released over the past few years.  I heard
    something a while back that sounded like Midnight Oil but never got a
    title.  It's definitely nothing off Earth+Sun+Moon CD.
