865.0. "Goodbyee Goodbyee, wipe a tear...." by CHEFS::PRICET (If this is paradise I need a lawnmower) Mon Jul 15 1991 12:42

Well today is my last official Monday morning with Digital, I say
official as I might be artound next week but I won't be payed for it
and I don't think I'll have access to the network.

I'm back off to Brighton Poly to finish off my degree in the autumn, I
don't know whether to feel happy or sad about leaving this place, I've
really enjoyed my time at Digital and one of the things that has
contributed greatly to this enjoyment is this conference.

It has kept me informed - How to open you Depeche Mode sealed special
edition to get the record out.

It has kept me amused - The Tosh notes, the cracks in some of the other
notes, the name dropping =8*) and meeting some of
you has been amusing as well =8*)

It has kept me busy - Typing in those long reviews that you probably
never read. Don't tell my manager though =8*)

Anyway its been a pleasure noting with you all, all the best for the
future, Matty I hope the project goes well and I look forward to the
newsletter and Mike maybe I can put another empty pint glass on your
    table some day =8*)

Well here's a new first liner "We'll meet again..." can you guess it
    =8*)

Last note to be entered Friday afternoon 5 days and counting.

before you're going to leave us. I've asked you who has singned your 7"
C.A.T.H. by It Bites. Are you able to let me know this, before you'll
go? All the best, and take care. I'm so sad, that you're not going to
sell me this (I'm so hardly missing) item.

Have fun in your last year at college `cause life's only downhill
from there ;-} (Of course being at a Polytechnic you'll probably
have a job when you graduate unlike we liberal arts majors who spent
the first few years out trying to figure out how to earn a living
and the next few in completely different jobs then we orginally
intended while trying to get over the fact that we're not going
to change the world or at least have emotionally fulfilling and
intellectually stimulating careers. --I'm kinda in the middle of
    all that.)

Bye Tim, I'll miss your fine taste in music.

    Vicki - I think I'll be a permanent student. A job when I graduate,
ha ha, the graduate job market is looking extremely unhealthy
at the moment, I'm hoping it will pick up if not I'll travel
the world looking for the meaning of life the universe and
everything and probably end up a monk in Tibet going UUMMMMMM
all day long =8*). Believe it or not I am doing an Arts degree
although how its classified as that I don't know, business
studies isn't what I think of as art, God knows why I chose
            it. =8*)

    Matty - Who?

Bob - I'm hoping to do some more interviewing when I return to Brighton
if the Poly paper is still going and maybe contribute to other
fanzines but another edition of Refrain, I doubt it, much to much
          work for one person.

Two days 6 hours and 50 minutes and counting.

    Good luck next year Tim.
                        ---

By the way I heard Brighton being referred to (on TV) as being "full of
of old people who looked like they would be willing to help the police
    with their enquiries..."

    Sounds great. :-;

    - Tim

PS Can you send me a copy of your fanzine ?

I'm afraid I haven't got any copies of the fanzine left. Hove is full
of old peole who don't live in Brighton they live in "Hove actually".
Go out there on Saturday morning at your peril, its dodge the zimmer
    frame time. =8*)

Brighton is full of students, dogs on string people, people who look
like they've just stepped out of Carnaby Street in the 60s and trendy dance
music types who wander round with very vacant looks on their faces
muttering things about "disco buscuits and party smarties" etc etc

	Tim,

It was a pleasure getting to meet you and I wish you the best!

It would be hard for me not to mention Ride in your bye-for-now note.

I first heard Ride's "Drive Blind" on WBMR radio in Cambridge, home
of MIT (or is it the other way around? -:) and from that point on I
was hooked and still am. You in turn told me a lot about this band
as well as many others and I for one will surely miss your reviews
(who says we don't read 'em?).

I hope you can read my handwriting once we revert to that form of
	communicating.

Seen any good shows at Brighton Rock lately? :)

	Cheers, Cheers, Cheers...

It's hard enough some times to keep up with the electronic mail
never mind writing conventional letters! If anyone in the Brighton
or Reading area meets up with Tim please tell him I said hi and
                                      ---
a letter is almost in the mail.

	Thanks,
