They're a big hit here in Boston...do a great cover of Sweet
Jane. Lou Reed says its the quintessential Sweet Jane!

A little more info:

The band is from Canada (Toronto, maybe?), and is made up of members of the
same family. I believe it is three borthers and a sister. Their debut album is
called 'The Trinity Sessions', because it was recorded live inside of a church
in Toronto.

Their version of "Sweet Jane" is real interesting - very laid back, but sorta
romantic, and it pulls you in as you're listening.

I haven't heard anything else yet, but the reviews were almost uniformingly
praiseworthy.

    Keith,

No need to wait until you go to the States - the Trinity Session is
available over here. I might even have got my copy from Our Price
    (heaven forbid!).

Thanks for the info.. If my planned trip to the US next month doesn't
come off, I'll look for it here. Otherwise, economy dictates that I buy
    it out there...

They apparently have a little known debut album called "Whites Off
Earth Now". "The Trinity Sessions" is their second album and a third
album is reputed to be in the works. They are indeed Canadian and
feature three siblings and one 'outsider'. From all reports, get
"The Trinity Sessions" NOW! One of these days I will, too.

    ... a third alternative Keith!

If your trip doesn't come off and if *all* the shops south of
Watford sell out ;-) I could bring you one when I come over
    if you like!

I saw a 12 inch single from the Cowboy Junkies in Our Price, Reading
the other day. Cant remember what it was called but I think it
    was a cover.

Anybody seen anything else that they've done (albums)??? Is there any
stuff out that hasn't been mentioned previously?

I've had The Trinity Session for a few months now, also recommended to
me by someone who was recommended it by someone else etc...

The Caution Horses is their third album, my wife listens to it a lot, I
    don't. I saw an ad (in Q I think) for a new release - I think it wasn't
a full album - maybe only 4 tracks.

Thanks for the info so far...

According to the bloke in the Stafford Our Price, they have a new
EP out next week and a new album out mid-February.

Bought The Caution Horses today after I put the note in and it's not
too bad. I think the expensive mike they used for The Trinity Session
made all the difference to Ms. Timmins voice... =;*)

Thanks for all the info, looks like the Albert Hall could be worth a
    visit for a change.
