| I can remember seeing them around 1970 at Portsmouth Guildhall.
They were just one support act, in a 'folk' evening.
The only song I can remember from that evening was one called
"The man who called himself Jesus".... (yep,thats right)...
Did they record it?
Ray.

| .3 may be right - it's been a long time since I last played Grave
New World, but I could have sworn it was (also?) on a cheapy LP
issued a few years ago called Sandy Denny and the Strawbs (on which
was a pre-Fairport version of "Who Knows Where The Time Goes") -
I have it and I'll look up the track listing tonight.

| Dave Cousins is a semi-regular at quite a few UK Folk Festivals
- I've seen him at Cambridge on more than one occassion. He's got
a great voice.

386.6 | Still sound great! | STP::ANDERSON | A dozen White Castles please! | Sat Jun 17 1989 01:57 | 7 |
| The Strawbs played the Paradise in Boston a couple of years ago and
sounded great! I've always been a fan of theirs. I played "Bursting
at the Seams" recently and was impressed by how good it still sounded.
It would be great to have some of their albums on CD, especially my
favorite "Ghosts."

386.7 | New BEST OF release on CD | PEKING::GERRYT | | Mon Aug 02 1993 17:18 | 10 |
| There is now a 'Best of' compilation out in CD format on A&M I believe.
It has 75 minutes of assorted material, from most of their releases.
Useful background info. also provided in the sleeve notes, including
references to health problems that Dave Cousins had during the latter
part of the bands existence. Compilation put together in 1993.
If anyone wants the catalogue number let me know.
