360.0. "MM & the Deep Fix" by KERNEL::FLOWERS (The final countdown...) Wed Mar 01 1989 20:01

Ok let's see just how many people do read this conference!!

I need some help tracking down a copy of a record that I
heard about twice some 4-5 years ago. If my memory serves
me correctly I believe it is called "Michael Moorcock and
the Deep Fix" and features some wierd sort of run down
fairground on the album cover. I was told when I first
heard the record that is was rare then so it might just be
impossible to get now, although I am not really after the
album itself, so if anyone does have a copy and could tape
it for me I would be forever in their debt.

    Cheers,

    	Jason.

PS. Sorry to the moderators if this is in the wrong place
it has just occured to me that there is probably a
wanted note so if need be move it there.

Yep, another MM reader here (Moorcock, not Muddly Maker, stoopid),
but I've never heard the Deep Fix stuff, unfortunately.

Guy, I like that title on your last note, do you know where it's
from? More importantly, do you know where I can get hold of the
    lp?

I remember that LP... (shows his age). I've no idea where you'd
get hold of a copy, it wasn't exactly what you'd call a best seller!

If I remember right, "Deep Fix" was actually Hawkwind (didn't Ken
mention that in his Hawkwind bit?).

As Nick said, refer to the Kings of Oblivion note... but

Micheal Moorcock often guested at Hawkwind gigs and is featured on the
Warrior lp. His album - Micheal Moorcock and the Deep Fix "New World
Fair" is/was on United Artites UAG 29732, released may 1975. The Deep Fix
was Dave Brock, Simon King, Alan Powell, Simon House and Terry Ollis (or
if you like Hawkwind line-up 9 that sacked Lemmy) plus others.

Now, let's hear it for Pete Brown and Piblokto.

MM sang lead vocals on the track Coded Languages from Hawkwind's
Sonic Attack LP. Great song, terrible singing.

For what its worth I have got hold of a tape of "New world Fair"
and it is excellent....I agree about the singing it is awful but
    the lyrics are great.
