Well, I heard the new Dusty Springfield single "Nothing Has Been
Proved" a few times on the radio ..... and I've bought the twelve
inch (first in about two years).
It's a great song - the lyrics are superb and tell the story as
it happend, and the orchestration is some of the best I've heard
on any pop single in years. The Pet Shop Boys beat is just about
right and Courtney Pine's solo work fits like a glove.
She also really streches out in the very last chorus .... echoes
of her early work.
I hope it acts as a new lease of life for her.

I must admit that whenever I see a 'collaboration' such as like
i.e. a successful act of the present 'joining forces' with a successful
act of the past (but not so much any more), then I immediately switch
off. I have only 'heard' this particular song a couple of times
but didn't really take it in (wasn't prepared to take it in), but
just for you, I shall do my best to LISTEN to this song and try to
judge it without any bias.
