300.0. "Mo Foster" by MARVIN::MACHIN () Fri Dec 16 1988 18:02

Heard a tune by Mo Foster on the radio the other night,
    "Jaco", I think.

Anyone know the album? -- couldn't find it in Reading.

    Richard.

Bloody hell, I know (of) Mo Foster - could have helped the bloke.
I've even got a couple albums.

p.s. this was the man behind "The Popadom Song" in the "cringeworthy
records" note or whatever it's called.

What was the name of the drummer (?) in the Velvet Underground? Wasn't her
name Mo?

Have absolutely no idea about the Velvet Underpants.

Mo Foster is a bassist, does mostly session work (Jeff Beck, Phil Collins,
Gary Moore are a few names that come to mind). He also writes his own tunes
that these days would probably fall into the "ambient" bracket, can't
think of any other word to describe them (other than "boring") - he
should stick to session work.

Well, you seem to have answered this chap's query perfectly well, even though
it took 7 years!

Didn't the Velvet Underpants record some really crap songs for an EP with
the Macc Lads a few years ago? And isn't Tucker someone from Grange Hill?

Chris.

Tucker in Grange Hill was played by Todd Carty who now plays Mark Fowler
    in Eastenders.

Richard gave up waiting and went to work for Microsoft last year - obviously
not the patient type!
