164.0. "But Honey,you can call me....Anytime!" by BONNET::MCALLISTER () Thu Aug 11 1988 19:57

Here we go from the sunny Cote D'Azur...Bill (mcbill) Mcallister
signing in,I'm looking forward to using this conference to keep
up to date with whats happening in the music scene in the old
UK (between you and me,I can't get used to this french stuff at
    all,at all).

Musical tastes vary with the weather,I've got stuff in the house
by the likes (or dis-likes sometimes) of Wings,Jethro Tull,Madonna,
    Yes,ELP,Huey Lewis(or is it Jerry-Lee Lewis :-)),Be-Bop Deluxe,Simple
    Minds,Spandau Ballet,Bruce Hornsby,Bowie,Genesis,Beggers Opera......
..the more obscure ones are an album of great (they said it not
me) organ (Now stop it,stop it !!) works that contains a great track
that my wife and I wanted to have played when she walked into the
church when we were geting hitched...until we discovered that the
title was ..."March of the War Brides",I kid you not...the other
is an album called Delanys' Donkey by Val Doonican,I think the
    man is a marvel.

Main claims to musical fame are that I once gave someone a pen
to allow David Bowie to write his autograph on her arm,I was in
a band who released an album that was sold out in two days (ok we
only made 200,and it was only on sale in two shops, and my mum and
my relations bought 50,and...),I once saw Michael Donnelly play
"Thats just the way it is" by Bruce Hornsby without making a mistake
and I managed to smuggle a bottle of Sherry into the Apollo in Glasgow
to see Focus when all of my mates got stopped with theirs.

What do you mean I ramble on a lot,

    		Cheers.....mcbill.

    Not *the* Michael Donnelly??

164.3Yup,the thinking mans' Liberarchy.FABULA::INSTQUALFri Aug 12 1988 16:5214

Well what can I say ? Michael (his sunday name) is obviously far
to modest to admit this himself, but yes it is *the* MD star of stage,
screen and the 5-a-side pitch. I think he also doubles up on the
paper-and-comb but the rumours are unconfirmed.

I was never quite sure wether Michael (do I have to keep calling
you that ?) wanted to be a piano player or a boxer as he often seemed
to be playing with the gloves on !!!!

     Yours affectionately....The Antibes Pest Controller.

    Hi Bill,

Yes, I've had an enforced absence from Notes for a while and I'm
just catching up on some of this stuff.... and no, you don't ramble
on a bit - you ramble on a lot!

    Michael

P.S - like the one about the boxing gloves - every time I hear it!
