	Looks fine to me. I just downloaded it myself. Check the file length.
   The size is exact in bytes.

    I get 1454272 bytes. Pretty small for a whole new browser.

    I've downloaded twice now, with the same corrupt result on both
    NT4 and 95. The problem arises when trying to run the app. The
    first dialog goes OK, then it says it is corrupt/wrong length.

4333.14Still seems to be a problem...CONSLT::OWENStop Global WhiningThu Feb 20 1997 15:1217
    I'm having similar probs. I just downloaded it from:

    http://ibgzko.zko.dec.com/sdk-cgi-bin/FT_software_distribution_form

    And windows 95 reports the file size to be: 8861KB (*1024=9073664).

    But when I run the .exe, it comes back and says:

    Installshield self extracting EXE
    "The file is not the correct size or is corrupt, and is unuseable"

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

4333.16Is Java 1.1 built in?CPEEDY::COOKJust say NO to that AccViO! - Java!!!Thu Feb 20 1997 17:259

    Is it reasonable to assume that this kit has the new version 1.1
    Java-support included in it? (If so, could the kit-description on
    the server be updated to say so?)

    Thanks...

I doubt it; the final 1.1 sources were first available to
Sun licensees yesterday.

4333.21Communicator 4.0PR2 doesn't work with proxiesQUARK::LIONELFree advice is worth every centMon Feb 24 1997 15:5716
I had been using 4.0b1 on my W95 system without problems. I downloaded the
"PR2" version, and found that if I have it set up to use proxies, I can't get
to ANYTHING. I set the proxy values correctly (www-proxy.zko.dec.com, port
8080), and set the "no proxy" to dec.com - just as I had before (and as I have
using Navigator 3.0b5 on VMS). It will talk to the proxy server, but will
tell me that non-dec.com nodes are unreachable. It won't access local dec.com
addresses either (doesn't seem to go through the proxy server for them). If
I disable proxies, I can get to dec.com addresses. MSIE has no problems with
internal or external addresses.

Is there something I'm missing?

				Steve

P.S. Communicator's Navigator doesn't remember that I keep telling it NOT to
check for whether or not its the default browser - it keeps checking anyway.
4333.22try changing the proxy ... either way...KANATA::ZUTRAUENalways lookin' to learnMon Feb 24 1997 16:348
    I found the same thing.... until I _changed_ my proxy from .crl. to .pa.

    I even changed it back from pa to crl .... and voila it still works!

    Go figure.... must be a bug? :)

    I had the same problem getting out to external sites, so I did what I
    always do in this case, I changed my proxy server (from ZKO to CRL) and
    the problem went away.

4333.25it's the change that does it....KANATA::ZUTRAUENalways lookin' to learnMon Feb 24 1997 18:442
    Seems like it's the action of changing the proxy which activates the
    proxy in the new new install. Sounds like a bug to me....
4333.26My page hangs Netscape Navigator v4PCBUOA::RGALVINhttp://sezwho.ako.dec.com/html/Galvhome.htmMon Mar 10 1997 18:0519
    A bug in NC PR2, or in my own HTML code...(?)

    I installed Netscape Communicator PR2 (the only version I've tried
    since Netscape v3) and have been able to reproduce a hang, simply by
    loading my own home page.

    The same page loads fine in both Internet Explorer v3 (and down) as
    well as all Netscapes up to v3.

    If you want to test this, my URL is:

    http://sezwho.ako.dec.com/html/Galvhome.htm

    I have animated GIF's, so my guess is that it's failing there...other
    than the GIF's, there's nothing fancy.

    My test machine is a Celebris XL 6200 running MS NT v4 Server.

4333.27secure news access always uses security proxy if defined?LGP30::FLEISCHERwithout vision the people perish (DTN 381-0426 ZKO1-1)Thu Apr 10 1997 15:2322
        A problem that I had with Netscape Communicator PR2, and
        continue to have with PR3 (Windows NT Intel):

        I use the "message center" to read both the public newsgroups
        (via one of the NNTP servers on Digital's News backbone) and
        the newsgroups mirrored from Netscape via the server at
        nssnews-gw.pa-x.dec.com.

        Access to the News backbone server works just fine.

        When I try to access the Netscape newsgroups via
        nssnews-gw.pa-x.dec.com, I find that Communicator tries to
        contact the proxy server I have configured as the "manual
        proxy" security proxy. If I blank that out I can connect to
        the nssnews-gw.pa-x.dec.com server, otherwise I cannot.

        I do have .dec.com listed as a "do not proxy" exception, but
        it would appear that this is being ignored in this case.

        (I have reported this to Netscape, BTW.)

        Bob
