852.0. "V1.1 Questions." by CSC32::P_BRADY () Tue Jun 03 1997 18:50

    Hello all,

I have a customer that has just put v1.1 on two prioris systems using a
raid array 410. There is currently No private network. His enterprises
    network is FDDI.

He is using NT 4.0 SP 3 that was upgraded from 3.51. He is using v3.2
    of hszdisk.sys.
I have told him of the problem seen with upgrades from 3.51 to 4.0 with
WINS. He said they do not use wins so it not an issue. Maybe these
other problems are because of this though.

In the application log, before he gets the message about hte cluster
software being uup and running he sees four messages.

    1.
    Event id 18
    Source Cluster event Log
    type error

    Desc:
    Readeventlog - failed on 'system',error=87
    the parameter is incorrect.

This sound like something is wrong with the log file, I am having him
turn on some fmtrace logging to see if I can see what is going on.
He gets another error just like this except 'application' is in place
    of 'system'

    2.
    Event ID 302
    Source CLUCIS
    type warning

    Desc:
CNX NTSV02 - message recieved for unknown nexus area4

Area4 is one of his failover objects, he gets two of these erros one
for this group one for a group called area6.
I remember the folk at MSE talking about htis in the Internship, andI
think SP 1 fixes this, but I do not remember what causes it.

    Any Info would be great....
    Thanks.....

Hello Paul,

It would be good to know what the problems are.. ie what are the
symptoms other than the error log messages.

They may be obvious, but....

Has the customer removed and readded the failover group?

Has the customer changed any file/directory protections?

Have you checked the users permissions/rights etc

Good luck,
