660.0. "Will wolfpack support Oracle enterprise?" by SPANIX::ALVARO () Wed Feb 26 1997 12:50

    Hi,

    Does anyone know if the wolfpack is going to support Oracle Enterprise
    7.3?. I know that was planned the Workgroup version but for the SAP
    environment the enterprise version is required (recent agreements
    betwen SAP and Microsoft targetting the internet and the SQL 7.0
    version makes me suspicios).

    	Best regards,

    	Alvaro Valdes

660.1Oracle Failsafe on WolfpackZPOPPN::CSNMURALITue Mar 11 1997 01:235
    It was announced in the NT Symposium that Oracle Failsafe will be
    supported on Wolfpack.

    As will Oracle Parallel Server, but Oracle was _very_ cagey and dodged
    the question of which specific platforms they would support, and about
    specific time frames.

    (I'm not sure of the schedule for SAP support for OPS. I've heard
    conflicting stories, the worst one being that they are going to do
    their FIRST OPS support on the IBM SP line - UNIX).

660.3runs on many platforms today ... TROOA::MSCHNEIDERmartin.schneider@tro.mts.dec.comThu Mar 13 1997 20:435

    OPS is available on a variety of UNIX platforms today including Digital
    UNIX TruCluster. If I remember my history correctly OPS first ran on a
    VMScluster.... something the Oracle presenter seemed to be unaware of.

	We must of had different presenters. The one I attended made a
	point of saying that it first ran on VMSclusters.
