445.0. "Nash Bridges" by WMOIS::TARDUGNO () Fri Mar 29 1996 12:18

New show starting tonite, March 29th at 10:00 called
"Nash Bridges" starring Don Johnson. Its set in
San Franscico and of course he is a Cop, will be
driving a vintage yellow "Cuda" and has been divorced
twice... The premise is nothing like "Vice". From what
I've read it more on human issues side than intense drug
dealing like Vice was. His partner in the series is
Cheech Martin. (Feel free to make corrections)
Something to watch after X Files. Who knows..might be good.

DJ was on Letterman last night and said the show is on CBS.

Seeing I never watched Miami Vice, I won't be tuning in...

I know what you mean ... I never watched "All in the Family",

NASH BRIDGES, a new high-action drama series starring Don Johnson,
Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Annette O'Toole, Serena Scott Thomas, Jeff Perry,
Jaime Gomez and Jodi Lynn O'Keefe, along with Cheech Marin in a recurring
role, will premiere Friday, March 29 (10:00-11:00, PM ET/PT) on the CBS
Television Network.

The series revolves around a San Francisco
PD Inspector (Johnson), who has gotten all A's as a cop but is flunking his
personal life. As the lead inspector of the elite "Special Investigators
Bureau," Nash Bridges is the most highly regarded cop in the city.
Unfortunately, Nash is having a hard time maintaining his life away from
the force as he juggles the responsibilities of two ex-wives, Lisa
(O'Toole) and Kelly (Thomas), and a 16-year-old daughter, Cassidy
(O'Keefe).

As if Nash doesn't have enough to worry about, his former
partner-turned-private eye, Joe Dominguez (Marin), often looks to him for
help -- and enjoys any chance he can get to needle his old buddy -- when
things heat up during an investigation. Although Nash simultaneously
frustrates and amazes his boss, Lt. A.J. Shimamura (Tagawa), and fellow cop
Harvey Leek (Perry), no one can deny his knack for handling the job with
flair and excitement, while serving as mentor to the precinct's rookie cop,
Evan Cortez (Gomez), a computer whiz who's still trying to master the
technique of keeping cool under pressure.

In the premiere episode, Nash and his team are assigned to
recover a load of stolen high-tech computer chips that are on their way to
China. The stakes are doubled when Nash discovers that the man behind the
smuggling attempt is the same person who, years earlier, murdered a sheriff
-- Nash's brother Kenny -- while he was on duty at San Quentin. Meanwhile,
Nash is having a hard time dealing with the fact that he's about to sign
papers that will make his second divorce final.

Johnson is known to television audiences for his role as Sonny Crockett in
the series "Miami Vice." He also appeared in the series "From Here to
Eternity" and the television films "Elvis and Me," "First You Cry" on the
Network and Centerfold. His feature film credits include "A Boy and His
Dog," "Sweet Hearts Dance," "Dead Bang," "Harley Davidson and the Marlboro
Man," "Paradise," "Born Yesterday," "Guilty as Sin" and the upcoming "Tin
Cup."

Marin, who provides the voice of "Lencho the Flea" in the CBS Saturday
morning children's series "Santa Bugito," has appeared in the feature films
"Cheech & Chong's Up In Smoke," as well as its five sequels, along with
"Things Are Tough All Over," "Born in East L.A," which he also directed,
"Desperado," "Rude Awakenings," "Ghostbusters II," "From Dusk Till Dawn"
and the upcoming "The Great White Hype" and "Tin Cup."

Tagawa's television credits include the series "Space Rangers" and the
films "Mission of the Shark," "Not of this World" and Vestige of Honor,"
all on the Network. His feature film credits include "Mortal Kombat,"
"White Tiger," "Rising Sun," "License To Kill" and "Twins."

O'Toole's television credits include the films "My Brother's Keeper" and
"The Christmas Box," both on CBS, "Desperate Justice" and "Kiss of a
Killer" and the mini-series "Dead By Sunset" and "Jewel." Her feature film
credits include "Imaginary Crimes," "48 Hours," "Superman II" and "Cross My
Heart."

Perry's television credits include recurring roles on the series "Chicago
Hope," on the Network, "My So-Called Life," "L.A. Law" and
"thirtysomething." He also appeared in the television film "Casualties of
Love." His feature film credits include "Body of Evidence," "Storyville"
and "The Grifters."

Gomez's television credits include the films "Untamed Love" and "Pink
Lightning." Among his feature film credits are "Crimson Tide," "Clear and
Present Danger," "American Me" and "L.A. Story." Thomas' television credits
include the mini-series "Diana: Her True Story" and the BBC productions of
"Harnessing Peacocks," "Headhunters" and "Inspector Alleyn." O'Keefe, a
former Ford model, appeared in the daytime television drama series "Another
World."

Don Johnson, Carlton Cuse ("Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.") and John
Nicolella ("Miami Vice") are executive producers of NASH BRIDGES, for the
Don Johnson Company and Carlton Cuse Productions in association with Rysher
Entertainment.

I hope the daughter doesn't have too big a role. I watch "Another
World" and she was on it for less than 6 months - what an AWFUL
    actress. Truly truly bad.

  Sonny Crockett with no teeth.

I didn't like Miami Vice the 1st year but once it got going it became a
classic. Looks like Don Johnson is off to another slow start.

Well I watched on 4/5 and Cheech Marin character is great...good
comedy relief. The other story was average - nothing special.
    Cheech made this show.

Agree 100% - he is a very good actor. I also enjoyed him in the movie
"Desperado" - he was the best thing in what was a stylish but very
stupid movie. Although I must admit I love to say AntonioBanderas
    very fast.
