444.0. "Psychic Friends Network" by MPOS02::HARRISA (Think virtual warming) Tue Mar 26 1996 17:54

does anyone know what channel the "psychic friends network" infomercial
is usually on? is it a "regular" stations or cable? i know its usually
broadcast in the early AM hours.

i was at the taping of the latest informerical and would like to see
the finished product. the people i asked at the taping didn't know
when it was going to be broadcast. but if i knew a station(s), i could
check it once in a while.

    	thanks - ann

PS - i got a free reading (over a telephone) and it was pretty accurate
in describing a friend and our relationship.

you don't say where you are located geographically and/or
which cable company services you ....

If you are in Nashua and have Warner Cable, they have a stupid
channel dedicated to infomercials on cable channel 39.

there is also a pretty good chance that the same exact reading
was given to many many others who also felt is was "pretty
accurate". 60 minutes even did a recent story where an
audience of about 30 "believers" were asked to give a
little background info, and then to go to a seminair given
by a renounced psychic. at the seminair they were all given
a envelope with their name on it and told that it contained
a "personalized" psychic reading tailored just for them.
They were then asked to privately read their reading, and then
asked how "accurate" they felt the reading was. Most said
they felt it was "very" accurate....

.... they were then asked to swap their reading with someone else.
All the readings were exact copies of each other!

Interestingly most of the "believers" in this experiment said
they were still "believers" even afterwards :-( Which is
	why P.T. Barnum said .....

In any case, did you know there was a notesfile for this stuff,
in which I'm guessing you can get all the info you want (and
more :-) on the "psychic friends network":

i'm in minnesota. PFN spent 2 days at the mall of america filming.
i thought it would be nice to see the finished product. my reading was
FREE. i'll see how things work out in the fall.

    i don't care if its a scam or not, i didn't lose anything ( i won't
call the 900#'s) since it was free. the reading just made me feel good.
they never tell you anything bad. .

thanks for the pointer to dejavu.
