It must be a real shock to witness something like this. Have you heard
    if she is doing alright?

This guy didn't even slow down? Did they catch him? Was he drunk (not
    that it would excuse anything).

When a sparrow dies, it dies as a result of God's will. But, if man has
free will, and a man/woman kills another, well, it just doesn't seem
like it could be part of a divine plan.

God said to Cain in Genesis that He heard Abel's blood crying from the
    ground.

I was more glad than usual to see my family when I got home. That's for sure.

Yes, I visited her in the hospital (Leftover chaplain drive, I guess). The
pedestrian survived. She is a 44 year old cartographer. Miraculously, except
for superficial wounds, she had no injuries above her neck. She had broken
bones all over the place (Shoulder, collar, hips, ribs, leg). Her right knee
was pretty badly torn up inside. She sustained no internal organ damage!

She'll never be as good as new, but she'll come back pretty far.

Sadder, the motorist was a 74 year old woman driving a new white Lincoln
Towncar. She returned to the scene some minutes later. The front and hood
was dented in and the windshield was smashed on the passenger side. I hear
the driver had run the light red southbound on Nevada.

I can make no assertions here.

A man at my church occasionally sings "His Eye is on the Sparrow", and
one time he told of when a rather viscious wind and rain storm was in
progress, and as he was dashing from his car to his house, he spotted
a sparrow, huddled under a bush as the storm raged. The story brought
tears to the eyes of many of us in church that morning.
