1105.0. "Good Samaritan laws" by CSC32::J_CHRISTIE (Unquenchable fire) Thu Jun 29 1995 22:20

Good Samaritan laws. Interesting phrase, eh?

Good Samaritan laws vary from state to state in the US. What do you know
about Good Samaritan laws and what do you think of them?

That which is done under the obligation of law fails to capture
the spirit of the Good Samaritan. Beyond that I can't really
comment, since I am not familiar with such laws.

I did hear once that it was illegal to pass a stranded traveler on
the trans-Alaskan Highway... but I don't know if true or just
    urban, er, rural legend.

In Georgia, and probably elsewhere, "Good Samaritan" laws were
legislated to protect the person from lawsuits who attempts to assist a
person in need, usually a medical emergency.
