You know, Marc, if I heard someone say what you said when I had my
chaplain's hat on, I'd say you could stand the services of a good
listener.
At this time of year, when we're supposed to start to experience the
comfort and joy associated with the season, many people (including many
Christians) are having a difficult time. Yeah, we want to feel the
comfort and joy we sing about, but something seems to be amiss.
A friend who reads this file is, for a variety of reasons, experiencing
a sense of isolation. The season is only serving to emphasize the
contrast between the way one feels and the way one is instructed
(sometimes non-verbally) that one is supposed to feel.
I offer my prayers for you, Marc, that you might know some measure
of comfort, some serenity, some sense of ease. And I continue to
pray for my friend, that God in Christ will continue to make a warm
home in the tender places of this friend's heart.
Shalom,
Richard
