We're REALLY excited about this and are looking forward to a time of
worship with family, friends, lay and clergy gathered in celebration of
our dual ordination. Each day in the mail we have been receiving notes
from many different friends/family/clergy all of whom are wishing us
    the

    sorry, again ... continuing ..

people who are wishing us the very best as we begin this new phase of
our lives. We have also been receiving numerous phone calls from many
people. Our ordination worship service is complete (actually Dot is
sitting next to me on the couch proof-reading the worship service
    program as I write tthis).

We received one card from the President of the Church Council of the
smaller of the two yoked churches yesterday expressing the joy thhe
congregation was feeling for us and of the hopes they had for all of us
as we shared our ministry with them in the near future. It's too bad
they cannot be present (nor the other of the yoked churches) at our
dual ordination but they will be in prayer.

Dot and I seem to be going around these days with unending smiles on
our faces and in our hearts. We hope to tape the service so that our
new churches will be able to share the moment with us shortly. Also,
friends who are unable to attend may wish to see the service at some
other time and so we may mail it around.

All this is of course predicated on a successful Eccliastical Council
examination of us for fitness into the ordained ministry which is
happening this coming Friday evening in Rhode Island at our "current"
home church. This meeting is the one in which we each present our
ordination papers before any and all people who wish to come for the
examination. It apleases us to no end all the comments/critiques we
received within this notefile and from email on our ordination papers
which were entered here in what seems to be eons ago.

    	Shalom,

    Richard,

You warm the cockles of our hearts (whatever and where-ever cockles are
    found :-) )!

We are going out tonight for a pre-celebration supper and then on to
Rhode Island early in th a.m. I just cannot seem to get rid of the
smiles on my face no matter just how hard I seem to try to do so lately!

It also warms me to be observing the "growth" of certain individuals
within this notesfile as issues are discussed and points debated.

Could you IMAGINE any pastoral search committee that would want people
to be their pastors who moved to Dallas during the summer - and then to
    Wisconsin during the winter???

Our first service(s) are scheduled for Thanksgiving Sunday, Nov 21st!

    	Shalom to all!

Thanks, Eileen! We feel very strongly that this calling to the two
yoked churches is where we are meant to be. We have a hard time
believing that we WERE selected from a long list of experienced
pastors; yet, every single instance of our talking with or meeting with
the Pastoral Search Committee or the congregants has been truly
    outstanding.

The two churches are quite different in membership profile: one being
similar to small towns back East of which we are accustomed; and the
other being a congregation of the general farming community. Members
of one church tend to where suits, sport coats and dresses and the
other tends to be much more informal. One church responded to my "Good
morning!" with an enthusiastic response and the other appeared to not
respond as they seemed to be of a more reserved gathering.

Well; we are SO excited that we've made a list of at least 100 sermon
titles and sermon short subjects ...

It was pleasant bumping into you a few times in Nashua during the
spring and I'm glad that you've been able to maintain being with the
    company; this "company" especially!

    	Shalom,

    	Ron
