242.0. "Spiritual Friendship" by CSC32::J_CHRISTIE (Proud Sponsor FAWoL) Mon May 27 1991 20:42

What is a spiritual friendship? What makes a spiritual friendship
unique from other friendships? Are spiritual friendships possible
between mixed genders?

This topic for discussing spiritual friendships.

It is when two people allow their souls to be knit together.

    	unique:
It is a much deeper level of commitment/covenant then other friend
    ships.

    	mixed genders:
ABSOLUTELY! That is how Rothel and I started out. But when it is
mixed genders if it is spiritual then it is by definition HOLY.

There have been a number of people in my life with whom I have felt
a great spiritual affinity, a bondedness, a kinship.

These relationships usually transcend time and distance.

One friend in particular I have known since 1967. For years, we have
lived hundreds of miles apart. We spoke by phone a couple of weeks ago.
We talked as though only a few hours had past since our last conversation.
As was usual, matters of the Spirit and of the heart were woven with
graceful ease throughout our exchange.

I am very pleased with the kinship I feel with at least 4 individuals I
have come to know primarily through computer conferencing. I won't
mention names in Notes because I have embarrassed at least one of them
before by doing so in the past.

Peace,
Richard
