115.0. "Asking for prayer for my pastor" by XANADU::FLEISCHER (without vision the people perish (381-0899 ZKO3-2/T63)) Mon Nov 26 1990 18:53

Please remember the pastor of my church, Arthur Bergeron, in
        your prayers.

He has had a long history of heart problems, and he is back
in the hospital with fluid around his heart. He is in his
        early 60's.

While he is technically retired because of his continuing
heath problems, he still lives in the parish, participates in
most services, and a replacement has not yet been found.

He is a beautiful and spirit-filled man, and has brought
        Christ's blessings to many.

        Thanks,
        Bob

May God, our Father of healing, love and grace and mercy be with your

May the healing light of the Great Spirit surround Arthur, his family,
friends and congregation, and God willing, may a replacement be brought
forward to continue his work with Spirit.

I'm sorry I hadn't responded before now -- things have been
        so hectic recently.

Arthur is doing well. About three weeks after this last
episode I heard him give a sermon -- at which he drew from
his "several ambulance rides this past year!"

He was reflecting upon how God is in the word and the word is
God -- and illustrated this with the healing power of the "I
love you" that an EMT said to him as he was left at the
hospital. (This EMT had been a student at a local school
when Arthur was the chaplain there.)

        Thanks for asking!
        Bob

Praise the Healer, indeed! From the sound of it, Arthur may even be richer
    for what he has experienced.

    Peace,
    Richard
