Alfred,

I sincerely apologize to you for offending you. I now realize
that I was attributing to you a position that you personally do not hold.
Sometimes I get in trouble because I do not keep noters whom I have
never seen separated in my mind! My confusion in this regard does not
excuse my error, however.

I apologize for insulting your intellectual integrity. It was not personal
nor intentional. I shall definitely *try* to be more careful in the future.

I am happy that you *are* open, Alfred, and I admit that I am not currently as
open in my belief as you are. I wrote:
I will honestly state that *I* am ... closed, in my view, to any
belief that anyone *knows* that God considers homosexuality a sin
    in all circumstances!

If I became convinced that God *did* consider homosexuality a sin,
I believe my *own* Christian responsibility would still be to favor their
equal rights under the law, and to welcome them to join me, a sinner, in
Christian fellowship.

I hope you will accept my apology, Alfred!!

    	Sincerely,
	Nancy

to give then anger is to raise.

    John,

You are so right. Jesus made some very strong statements about
judging others. I offer my profuse apologies to those I've sinned
against by making judgmental condemnations and offensive accusations
    in this conference.

    Peace,
    Richard

If I have misled or offended anyone by saying that my faith is consistent
with Scripture when their understanding of what "consistent with Scripture"
means is contrary to mine, I apologize.

Peace,
Richard

I would like to go on record as not having all the answers, let alone
    all the precise answers.

Hopefully this will diffuse somewhat the sense of 'one-upsmanship'
that occurs when I am in error.

I pray that God will be glorified nevertheless through this frail and
    flawed instrument.

    Peace,
    Richard

God of the universe, you have chosen us as your children and have graced
us with dignity, creativity and understanding. In the face of all you
have given us, we often fail to recognize your goodness within us. Instead,
we listen to other voices which tell us we are less than a reflection of
your Divine Image. Forgive us for doubting your word, spoken from the
beginning, pronouncing us as good. Amen.

We confess, O God, that we have not been as open as you intend to the winds
of the Spirit. There are times when we merely exist, as if the tomb had
already closed us in. O God, forgive our foolish ways. Breathe into us
once more the breath of life, that we may walk before you in the land of
the living. Amen.
