110.0. "A Disney Birthday Party For A Young Boy" by ESKIMO::BURDETT () Tue May 30 1989 16:54

    My family will be going to Disney World for the first time in Nov.
    of this year. We will be there during my son's birthday. He will
    be eight years old. I would like to do something special for him.
    I'm sure Disney has something to offer as far as a boy's memorable
    birthday dream. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Have you called or written to WDW Guest Relations? I bet they would
    have some great suggestions, or even be able to make some special
    arrangements. Let us know what you come up with.

    Start with WDW Information (407) 824-4321.

    Over at Fort Wilderness they have a sing-a-long every night in back
    of the Meadow Trading Post. They have a small stage and bleachers
    out in the open. Every night they have a person play guitar and
    lead the sing-a-long, songs everyone knows and can sing. A part
    of the evening's entertainment is when the singer asks if anyone
    has a birthday today...then he has them come up on stage with him
    and leads the audience in a chorus of "Happy Birthday" ! I would
    think that having 500-1000 people sing "Happy Birthday" to you in
    DisneyWorld would be memorable...

    Just remember that the Sing-a-long at Fort Wilderness is open to WDW
    resort guest only and not the general public, so if your not staying at
    at WDW owned resort be prepared to show a resort ID.

    You're absolutly right, Claude...I forgot to mention that. The
    boat pilots don't always ask for resrot ID though...

    Is the author of .0 staying at a WDW resort ?

110.5CHARACTERS BREAKFASTHYEND::MNIKITASWed May 31 1989 14:5315
    Hi,

    A suggestion for the Eighth Birthday party. Two years ago we visited
    WDW for my son's eight birthday gift.

    We started with the "CHARACTERS BREAKFAST" at the Princess Lilly
    River Boat. We made reservations 2 months before the trip and told
    them that is was for his birthday. During the breakfast all the
    Disney characters visit each of the tables for pictures and autographs
    and then (picture this) all 250 of the guests sang Happy Birthday
    to my son......well....he still talks about that morning when WDW
    sang to him. Following that...we proceeded to WDW for the rest
    of the day.

    Have fun and enjoy

    Has anyone done what .2 describes? Just wondering if I should take a
    shot at this on my birthday. Also, I could capture it on tape.

110.8MGM BirthdayWREATH::SCOPASat May 21 1994 13:518
    I recently heard of a special birthday offer for MGM. It involves the
    Aladdin parade. I remember seeing a price of $19.95 for this special
    birthday treat.

    Anyone interested can call (407) 560-1351 and ask about the MGM
    Birthday Party special.

110.9Will we hear the voice of experience?MAGEE::GIBSONMon May 23 1994 13:114
    Gee, Mike, are you going to do this special on your birthday so we can
    hear about it first hand?

    Linda
110.10Sorry Mr. Scopa but you'r e a bit overageWREATH::SCOPAMon May 23 1994 15:0918
    Linda,

    There's an age limit. One of the features of this special is that you
    get to ride in the Aladdin Parade.

    I'm gonna have fun on my birthday...breakfast at Tangaroa Terrace and
    a late lunch/early dinner at Chef Mickey's. I think we'll finish the
    evening with SpectroMagic and Fantasy in The Sky.

    Although I'm thinking about going to MGM on my birthday because my wife
    and kids have a knack for letting people know it's my birthday and I
    could pretend I'm Jim Pappas and get to participate in attractions like
    Monster Sound Show and Superstar Television.

    But no Bash this time...if you go to the well too many times you may
    end up wearing a tutu one of those times.
