323.0. "Disney Store Credit Card" by ILUVNH::BADGER (One Happy camper ;-)) Thu Oct 29 1992 01:41

    Just received in the mail today:

    "We are inviting a limited number of people to receive the first issue
    of the Disney Store Credit Card and you have been selected to become
    one of our charter members."

    "As a member of this exclusive group, you'll be among the first to
    enjoy:

    o credit priviliges at the Disney store and Disney Catalog
    o advance notice of store sales and events including character
      appearances, promotions and more..
    o exclusive merchandise designed specifically for members
    o the Disney catalog
    o special members -only savings
    o The Disney Store Newsletter - "Onstage"
      Find out what's happening at the Disney store, Disney themem parks,

    the Card is no-fee. It doesn't say if you can have a balance[revolving

    another way Disney finds its way into my pocket!

    I received my card and just had to go use it.

    The first bill has come and with it came Onstage. I've posted some of
    the articles elsewhere in this conference.

    BTW, Onstage arrived with bill along with a stuffer for the exclusive
    Goofy Christmas ornament. Has anyone received these mailings without
    using the card? I've been wondering if the mailings will be sent if
    I don't use the credit card each month.

    Hi,

    What's the verdict? Is the Disney Credit Card worth it? I picked up an
    application, but don't know if I should sign up.

    Thanks,

    Linda (who's hoping to go to Ft. Wilderness in May if we get a big
    tax refund)

323.8Disney Store Credit Card To Be ReplacedWREATH::SCOPAWed Feb 16 1994 13:3916
    Word from the internet and Skip Williams is that the Disney Store
    Credit Card will soon be replaced with a new Disney Credit Card.

    If you are a current cardholder you will receive this card sometime
    over the next month.

    This card can be used at all Disney stores AND theme parks and
    resorts.

    If you want more information stop in at any Disney store. They will
    also inform you that the present card will no longer be valid or
    accepted after March 31, 1994.

    Any comments?

    I wonder if this means that the long-standing relationship with
    American Express, "the official credit card of Walt Disney World"
    will be terminated in favor of Disney's own card? It seems a lot
    of long-standing relationships are changing lately (the Big Red Boat
    now affiliated with Universal Studios, new sponsors for different
    exhibits in parks...)

323.10shhhh! Disney is listening.NODEX::MMCKENNAThu Feb 17 1994 16:537
    This is really interesting. When I first got my Disney Credit Card
    back when it first came out, I filled out a survey. On the survey it
    asked how this card could be improved. I mentioned that I would like to
    be able to use it at the theme parks and resorts! Maybe they are
    listening to their customers!

    Marcie,

    Did you also say it would be nice to get a discount when using the card
    in the theme parks and resorts?

    Hope so.

323.13I got mine!NODEX::MMCKENNAWed Mar 16 1994 17:2512
    I got mine! I received my new Disney Credit Card yesterday. The Colors
    are almost the same and the stars are still there but it now says
    "Disney" on it, instead of The Disney Store. It also has a halogram
    of the Socerer's apprentice in the lower right hand corner. Oh, it also
    has a shadowy silhouette of Cinderella's castle right in the middle.

    Pretty card. (This is important you know! ;-)

    ALso received a small pamphlet with a resort special for card holders.
    "Vacation Magic" Sounds like a lot of their other specials.

323.14New Card Use!WREATH::SCOPAMon Apr 04 1994 13:596
    Has anyone inquired as to just what you can can use this card for while
    in Orlando?

    Can I charge my reservation to the card? Just a thought.

My new Disney card just arrived and I called the 800 number on the back.
Yes, you can use the card to charge reservations when you call CRO!

Also, you can use it at all stores at WDW that are owned by Disney. The
guy I spoke with said this includes all of the shops within the parks,
and most of the shops at the MarketPlace and in the resorts. He said
that there are some shops outside the parks that are not Disney-owned
and that the card cannot be used in them.

I also asked about the restaurants. Again, as long as they are Disney-
owned the card is accepted. All the restaurants inside the parks take
it as well as some of the restaurants in the resorts. You need to ask
at each one. He did say that even some of the non-Disney owned restaurants
in the resorts are switching over to accepting it.

    Remember that the card can be used ONLY by the person whose name is
    embossed on the front. YOu need to call the 800 number to add
    authorized users.

323.17Billing DatesWREATH::SCOPAWed May 25 1994 16:055
    Offhand does anyone know the monthly closure date for billing? I
    thought it was late in the month. Just a thought. I'm thinking about
    "floating" a charge for 45 days or so.
