288.0. "Have a Merry Mickey Christmas and Thanks" by VISUAL::SCOPA (I'd rather be in Orlando) Thu Dec 19 1991 19:17

THis is Mike with his Moderator hat on thanking everyone for
contributing to this conference over the past year. It certainly gets
me through those tough days and helps me focus on my return trips.

My thanks also extends to my fellow Mods who certainly provide this
conference with the best Moderatorship around.

288.1Thanks from the UK!WOTVAX::BATTYWell, I wouldn't start from here!Fri Dec 20 1991 07:4711
I'd like to add my thanks on behalf of all the UK Noters (Some
regular, and a legion of RO's!) who have benefited from the advice
in this file. I'd also personally like to thank everybody who
contributes or moderates. As Mike S. says, it helps us to get
through the bad patches and maintains the exitement throughout the
    year.

All Best Wishes for the Season, and looking forward to meeting
some of you in person at the "Big Bad Birthday Bash"

    Mike B.
288.2Peace on Earth...CUPMK::JETTEFri Dec 20 1991 12:3010
First I'd like to thank Mike Scopa for introducing me to this notes
file. And thanks to everyone for all the advice and opinions. It's
    been very helpful.
Although my husband is probably not too thrilled - (I've increased the
    # of days to this next trip 3 times and might do it again!)

Happy Holidays and a healthy 1992 to you and yours,

    Kathy Jette

288.7Disney ChristmasAIMHI::JUTRASMon Jan 06 1992 18:457
I received the Fantasia Video and the CD soundtrack to the Little
Mermaid - Though I think my wife bought it for herself more. She has
    been playing it constantly.

She got a Mickey nightshirt. He is in his pajama's holding a pillow
and yawning. On his feet are what else but Goofy slippers. She loves
    it.
288.8BUSY::TBUTLERWed Jan 08 1992 12:1519
	I got the following:

Mickey Tie (Mickey hiding in the paislee (?SP) prints
	Fantasia coffee mug
	Fantasia video
	Winnie the Poo video
	Goofy tee-shirt
Disney World and Beyond Family Fun Cards

All in all it was a very Mickey Christmas.

I would also like to extend my thanks to every contributor to this
notes file. It's a real escape valve for me. The trip reports are great!
I print them out and read them at my leisure. Those Brits are especially
literary in their reports! I think my vote for favorite trip report of 91
though would be the Scopa Report (sounds like a new PBS show starring Mike
Scopa and Bill Moyers).

    planning.

I'm waiting for our friends to get back from Florida to see what
they've bought us. It'd better all be Disney stuff!!!

> Best of all mom gave me a share of STOCK!!! I'm so excited I'm going
> to buy it today, since it keeps going up.

I guess this is my day for being picky...

Disney stock is the highest it's been in months, at about $120. I bought
some a while ago while it was in the high 90's, and sold it all
yesterday, because I made a decent profit and don't see a lot of
up-side potential, and maybe some short term volatility. I also expect
a severe drop in most, if not all, stocks some time in 1993.

HOWEVER, a single share of Disney stock is a fun thing to have for a
Disneyphile, just make sure you get an actual stock certificate, and
maybe even put it in a frame for fun. Some stock certificates are quite
beautiful, and I'd expect Disney's to be quite interesting.

Also, the stock would have to go to nearly $160 just to make selling
a single share profitable (because of the commision cost), so plan on
holding it for a LONG time and it just might be worth a lot of money
someday, because, yes, the long term trend for stocks in good companies
is definitely UP, usually beating inflation and money markets.

288.13I'd never sell it!FDCV06::CAMPBELLFri Jan 10 1992 10:575
I only wanted it to frame. I saw my mom's with the characters on it
and thought it would be fun to frame it and hang it up. Also get the
shareholders benefits. I have no desire to ever sell it.

Well as we close out 1992 and the third year for this conference we
are saddened at the thought of both Len, Claude, and Mike not being
    around anymore.

It has been quite a year. I will always remember 1992 as the year of
    the big Birthday Bash.

Let's all hope that 1993 brings with it a return to prosperity for our
company so that we can remain together and continue to share our joy
experiences thanks to a man named Walt who created a mouse named
    Mickey.

SPeaking for all the moderators (past and present) I'd like to thank
everyone who has contributed to this conference over the last twelve
    months.

Have a very Mickey Xmas everyone.

Your most humble Co-Moderator (and birthday bash boy)

288.17Christmas '93WREATH::SCOPAMon Dec 20 1993 13:3741
Wow, that year went by fast. So will this week. I'm taking the rest of
the week off to ensure myself a Very Mickey Christmas. After this week
my next planned vacation time will come in July when I visit as old pal
Len would say, "the land of talking mice and ducks."

Over the course of 1993 our Disney Conference family became a bit smaller
but we continued to do our best in providing to all who enter this,
probably the most magical of notesfiles...

...answers to all your Disney vacation questions

          ...the latest breaking Disney news

...a place to escape to when stress is on overdrive

...and most of all a forum to share our Disney memories.

Speaking for all the moderators I'd like to thank everyone for
contributing to this conference over the past year and look towards
1994 as a year in which we will see...

         ...our Disney noting community growing

...more noters finding an opportunity to visit their favorite
            Disney destination

...the latest addition to Disney classic animated collection with
            "The Lion King"

...more trip reports...they sort of slacked off this year

...a 1994 edition of our own Disney contest hosted by our newest
            moderator Jodi Newell

...and finally a continuation of the Disney Decade in which more
and more people can wish upon that star and make their dreams
            come true.

Have a Very Mickey Christmas everyone.

    Mike
288.18Year End MessageWREATH::SCOPAThu Dec 22 1994 11:2964
On behalf of the moderators I'd like to both wish all our Disneyholic
brethren the happiest of holidays and to thank everyone who has
    contributed to this conference.

This conference continues to provide information sorely needed by those
first-timers to "The Happiest Place on Earth" and hopefully next year
will bring more active noters to the conference.

The world of Disney continues to expand and it's getting very difficult
to keep up with all the changes. Your humble mods will do their best to
keep you informed as to what's happening. We encourage the read-only
noters to step forward and participate. We all enjoy sharing our Disney
    experiences.

1994 saw many things. Among them...

...Beauty and The Beast on Broadway

          ...The Lion King

          ...Snow White on Home Video

          ...The Wilderness Lodge

          ...The All-Star Resorts

          ...Groundbreaking for Blizzard Beach

          ...Groundbreaking for Boardwalk

...Sunset Blvd and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

          ...Innoventions at EPCOT '94

...Honey I Shrunk the Audience at EPCOT '94

          ...MickeyMania Parade at TMK

...The Lion King Adventure at TMK

          ...The New TomorrowLand at TMK

          ...assorted additions/enhancements throughout WDW

As 1995 approaches we can look forward to...

...The Lion King on Home Video

          ...Pocahontas

...The New Indiana Jones Adventure in DisneyLand

...Information on the Silver Anniversary of WDW starting on
             10/1/96.

Let's all hope for a better year for all of us and continue to use
this conference to help us get through those bouts of Disneyitis.

Think of all the $$$$ we are saving on shrinks by using this conference
    as therapy ;^).

Thanks for participating in the Disney Conference.

    Happy Holidays to all.

    Mike,

Your so right about the "shrinks". This file is great therapy.

    My thanks to the Moderators.

    Merry Christmas!
