255.0. "Orlando Area Camping" by BRSIS3::BOKOR (Big Browser) Wed Mar 27 1991 05:48

Hello,

I'm living in Belgium (Europe...) and I'm planning to visit Florida end of May/
beginning of June. I would like to do it with a rented motorhome...

Is it absolutely necessary to have reservation in Campgrounds (may be difficult
and/or costly from here...no 800 numbers...), or is there any hope to find a
place to stay each night ?

In particular, in the Walt Disney World region...I know that Fort Wilderness is
a very nice, but very busy and very expensive campground...Is there any other
campground near WDW, with communication possibility ? (I'm aware of at least
one KOA campground with such a thing)

I would be happy if you could share your experiences with me...

Charles, Data Center Brussels
(Charles BOKOR @BRO)

(I post this note in the DISNEY and RV notefiles)

PS: This notefile is great ! I learned many interesting things in browsing
trough it

Please can somebody tell me about this place call
     "Outdoors resort" campground
I made a reservation to be their in July since Fort wilderness
campground was all full until August.
I like to know all the good things and not so good things about
this campground. They told me is located about 5 miles of WDW.

                                        Very gratefull

Outdoor Resorts is one of the many TimeShare type RV campground
available, you may have better luck asking this question in GENRAL::RV
conference (press Keypad 7 or Selct to add to your conference), since
there are lots of readers there who frequent the Orlando/WDW area.

DO NOT --- I REPEAT -- "DO NOT" go anywere else but Fort Wilderness.
You WILL be disappointed once you visit FW and compare. I have been
camping for 30 years now (I'm a Scoutmaster) and have never seen a
place like FW. They put alot of work in the place and it shows.

    P.s.  I'll be down there 2nd week of June.  :^}

John is right, it may be more expensive but what you save in
aggrevation of being off site is worth every penny. We have been 17
times in the last 15 years and stayed off site only once and were
cured. We will be there from June 15-22. We just called 2 weeks ago
for reservations (wern't going this year, ha ha) and were waitlisted.
We got the whole eight days only 3 days later, people cancel all the
time for whatever reason. Its a wonderful place like no other as you
can tell if you check the notes.
