94.0. "Week after Easter.. paradise or purgatory?" by NITMOI::WITHERS (So shines a good deed in a weary world..) Fri May 05 1989 20:47

Hello all. I am going to WDW for my honeymoon on April 17 next year
(1990). It is the Monday after Easter and am going to arrive Monday
and fly out on Saturday the next week.

The question is this, when I called MKC to book my room at the
Polynesian they said "Week after Easter? That and the week before are
the busiest times of the year!" Now, can someone tell me how bad it is
    during the week after Easter?

FYI, first three trips we're staying at FW during August (peak season)
and I don't fear crowds.. I'm just curious if it is busy or THE BUSIEST
TIME OF THE YEAR! (my caps, not thiers :-) )

    George,

The 2 weeks around Easter are almost like weeks during the busy summer
weeks of July. On my '84 and '87 trips, I arrived on the Saturday
following Easter, and when I went into the park to see the Electric
Light Parade, the park was definitely PACKED!! However since everyone
was leaving and I was there mainly for the following weeks the crowds
    were a lot more manageable.

So if you are used to Summer weeks in WDW then you should have no
problem, unless you decide to go Easter, since that is a definite
    popular day.

My family and I went of WDW in 1986. It was the first week in May.
There were crowds but the people who run WDW really know how to
    handle large crowds.

There were attractions that had long lines, but many times they
could be avoided until later in the day. There was also certain
attractions that we wanted to see more than once.

The longest line that we encountered was Jungle Cruise. Approximately
1 1/2 hrs. There are also rides that never seem to have a line.
The one thing that was present was the temperature. Average 87 degrees.
