558.0. "Prince of Fundy Cruises" by NAC::BOURQUE () Wed May 15 1996 15:49

Anyone have any input on the Prince of Fundy cruises that cruise out
of Portland Maine to Yarmouth Nov Scotia.

Looking to give a getaway cruise to parents as part of their 40th
anniversary gift.

Any thoughts, comments would be helpfil, like what type of
cabin to get, how the food/dining is, things to see/do on Nova Scotia,
etc.

Thanks,
Stephanie

    I went on this cruise last year. As I previously cruised with
    RCCL, this cruise left a lot to be desired. However, I found the
    food and ship to be adequate for the cost which was quite reasonable.
    As I recall, you get a choice of 2 rooms, one with bunk beds and
    no bathroom, or one with single beds and a bath. We chose the
    bunk beds and they were extremely uncomfortable. The room was also
    *very* small. There are several cruise/hotel packages to choose from.
    We were only there for 2 nights and stayed in Yarmouth at the Manor
    Inn which was very nice. Feel free to send me mail if there is
    anything else I can answer.

558.2Multi-day package good too.ESOSRV::BATORWed May 22 1996 13:2114
    We went on this cruise about 3-4 years ago. It was fine for a
    getaway. We took their 5 day package where they had confirmed
    reservations for us in 3 different towns. So, each day we
    would drive from 50-80 miles, sightsee, and check in
    to that area. We enjoyed the ports of Halifax/Dartmouth.
    Downtown area with shops, etc reminded me of Quincy Market.
    Took a tour also, and learned about the city and its history.

    The ship was OK. We spent lots of time in the lounge,
    where they entertain you every hour or two with different
    activites, e.g. music, dancing, bingo, horse race, etc.

    For an 11 hour cruise, it was fine value for the money.
    One hour to turnaround, and repeat. Same time every day.
