| My wife and I took the Eastern Caribbean cruise the week after
Thanksgiving. The ship we were on was the Zenith, and was like brand
new, maiden voyage was in April of 92 I beleive. This was our first
cruise but it won't be the last.
The pro's would be the food (excellent) also given excellent marks
by several umpteen time cruisers we met on our trip. Also the
cleanliness of the ship and the cabin size. All ouside cabins have the
larger windows and are very comfortable.
On the other side of the coin I would say the entertainment was so
so. Two or three evenings were very good and the rest ok. Also, the
item I did mention on the comments section was the size of the beverage
glasses on the deck. Were not very much for drinking and its a good
thing. Drinks aren't outrageous but expensive, and are served in what
I would say was about a 6oz. glass (plastic).
Hope this helps, send me mail at COMET::MCNANY if there are any
other questions I might be able to help with. Which ship are your
going on? Is this your first time?

Last year at this time we sailed the eastern carribean on the
Meridian. It was our first cruise and we loved it. I'll second
that regarding the food and service. Even though the Meridian
is much older than the Zenith it was kept very clean and seemed
to be in pretty good shape. Not ever being on another cruise, the
entertainment seemed okay. I was a sucker for the midnight buffets.
There was a different theme each night e.g.,Mexican, Oriental, Italian
and then the Grand Buffet. The service from my view was impeccable.
We also had one waiter that no matter where we were he would always
seem to find us and make things were okay. Of course there was eight
of us and we would every once in a while give him a cash tip which I
think got us the little extra service.
On this line a 15% gratuity was already added on your check when you
signed. There were no bargains as far as the drink prices but not any
more than I have paid here at home. All in all it was the best vacation
I have ever had and in 19 days we are sailing on the REGAL PRINCESS to
do the eastern carribean again. Have a great time.....
