431.0. "Listing of operators wanted." by MASALA::LDICKHOFF (Glad to live *HERE*!!!) Mon Mar 15 1993 09:09

    Hope it is ok to post this here....

    Does anyone in this file have a listing of cruise ship operators with
    their mail addresses? Both US and non-US please!

    A good friend of mine is fed up with working here in Scotland and wants
    to give working on a ship a shot. With the rain here, I can see the
    point!! =8-)

    Please post here or send mail THERAJ::LDICKHOFF

    Thank you very much in advance,
    Flying Dutchman

431.3Cruise work is very hardLEDDEV::CULLISONWed Mar 24 1993 14:2511
    Just as a general reply, unless your friend has some talent such
    as entertaining etc., then the type
    of work cruises offer is extremely long hours with low pay. He will
    be inside working so much, so long that it will not matter how
    nice the weather is outside. Chances are pretty good he will not
    last long.

    General help on ships work on average 14 to 16 hours a day, with a few
    hours off during day a couple of times a week.
