281.0. "Inexpensive cruise available?" by SNAX::KENNEDY () Tue Apr 23 1991 13:17

       Hello All,

         I am new to this conference and I have never take a cruise. I am
       going to be getting married this June and I was wondering if it was
       to late to get on a ship, and if not, what is the leat expensive way
       to go about getting on one of these ships for around 4-7 days. I
       would love to take a cruise, but I don't think I have the funds for
       something like that. I am trying to save up for a house. Any help
       would be greatly appreciated.

281.1There are some pretty good deals...SWSEIS::WHALENWed Apr 24 1991 12:2619
    Steve

    Norweigean Cruise Lines (NCL) has some pretty good specials out
    right now. They have a "2 for 1" deal where the first person
    pays full fare and the second person goes for free (but, you
    have to book your airfare separately), or they have another
    special: first person pays full price, second person pays 1/2
    price (and that one includes airfare).

    Just something to think about... Not sure really how much you
    want to spend. I'd talk to a travel agent and ask what cruise
    lines are offering the best deals (also, June is a good month
    to cruise pricewise). I've also seen that Princess Lines are
    offering some pretty good deals too.

    My husband and I just booked on NCL's Seaward in July (on the
    2 for 1 special)!!!!! Can't wait!!!!!

    Good luck. Let us know what you find.
281.2skip the house, cruise it!ODIXIE::RHARRISWed Apr 24 1991 19:449
    Hey Stevie baby,

    shine on the house. Go on a cruise. You can always go buy a house
    when you get back. Go on the cruise. You only live once. Go on the
    cruise. You get the subliminal message? Go on the cruise. Go on the
    cruise.    GO ON THE CRUISE!!!

    I agree. We want to buy a house also - but we opted for
    the cruise and waiting for the house. How many honeymoons
    do you get?

    We just went on RCCL - Song of Norway 7 day cruise for
    $2200 for the two of us. We booked 6 weeks ahead of time -
    and asked to be upgraded. If they upgrade you it doesn't
    cost a penny more. We went from a level N cabin to a level J.

    We checked to cost of going to an island instead - and it would
    have been the same price - but no meals included - so it was
    less expensive to take a cruise.

    The cruise we were on had 68 honeymoon couples.

    Take a cruise.
