238.0. "ORGANIZING GROUP CRUISE - 5/4/91!" by CSSE::FINN () Fri Oct 05 1990 18:26

I'm somewhat new to this particular NOTES conference and by way of
introduction, I'd like to get the word out that I'm organizing a group
    cruise.

I am waiting to hear from my cruise travel agent to confirm that we
will be sailing on May 4, 1991 on the SOVREIGN OF THE SEAS. When she
had called, the cruise ship had told her that no more group space
was available, however, they are in the process of making calls to
retrieve unused space. If May 4 falls through, then we will definitely
sail the following week on May 11 (plenty of group space is available.)

I noticed that a few of you will be sailing on the SOS this December.
For those of you who couldn't manage making that sail, this is your
chance not to miss out in cruising on the SOVREIGN in May! I
cruised on May 5 of this year on the Song of America and we had
perfect weather! No threats of tropical storms or anything!

I'll be able to give more details once I get the confirmation from my
Cruise agent. Alot of the information I'll pass on will be similar to
Joe Famularo's info in NOTE 208.*. The prices will be different
    however.

The idea of getting a group together makes it more cost efficient for
everyone. The discount is better than booking as an individual. Once
you get on the plane there are no ties to the group. It's not like
some of those funny looking groups where everybody has the same t-shirt
or hat and are stuck together like glue for the entire vacation. It's
    not like that at all.

This is not limited to only Digital employees. This is not a
Digital-sponsored trip. It just happens that a Digital employee is
getting this together. ME. I am not employed by the cruise line,
RCCL, or the cruise travel agency, Cruise Holidays of Sudbury.

I will give you the info I have to date and let me know if you're
    interested.

    FOR THE 5/4/90 SAILING:

o I will have only 8 staterooms available to me. This means that this is
    open to 7 other couples.

o Staterooms from Category L and higher must be purchased. The cheapest
inside room will be 1,357.00 and the cheapest outside room will be
$1,409. This includes everything, including your port charge, group
discount and AN EARLY BOOKING DISCOUNT of another $25.

o A deposit of $200 must be received within 4 weeks from the time the
date is confirmed. I can receive this in one lump sum or in
    installments.

o Balance will be due March 1, 1991.

    FOR THE 5/11/90 SAILING:

o I will not be limited to a certain number of staterooms.

o Staterooms from Category M and higher must be purchased. The cheapest
inside room will be 1,309. I don't know what the cheapest outside room
    is at this time.

o All other info from the 5/4 sailing applies.

If you would like a catalog, please send your name and address to
CSSE::FINN and I will have one sent out to you

    OR

You can contact Cruise Holidays in Sudbury to obtain info at
1-800-648-2469. Be sure to mention my name so that you're given
    accurate info.

I will be getting a video and will be showing it hear in Stow during
    the lunchtime hour.

I will supply details as they come in as replies to this note.
