| My experience has been that these alumni deals are not necessarily the
best discounts. For instance, Holland America and Princess and
NCL...etc. send me these things all the time. Look at the small print
which states these coupons cannot be used in conjunction with any other
discounts and you find you are not getting any better a deal than a
first time cruiser who booked through a good discount cruise agent.
I think the cruise lines should REALLY give repeat passengers a
discount over and above the precoupon price, brochure price or not.
Have others found the same to be true?

| Yes, the stuff I get in the mail isn't usually much of a deal. It is
only when they extend a special offer (because for one reason or
another they want/need the generated business). By special offer I
mean like what RCCL has done twice now that I know of and that is
first person pays reg price and second person is 1/2 price.
Unfortunately, even though the offer is extended only to those who've
sailed with them before; not everyone who has sailed before receives
the mailing. Luckily, one of the travel agencies I use (Just Cruises
in San Francisco) always sends me a copy of the special offers as
well. It is good to establish a repore with a couple of agencies who
know you're interested in special offers. It is these special offers
that allow one to cruise more often. ;')
