I am planning a South Seas cruse on the Royal Viking Sea for Febuary 1990. The cruise leaves Auckland then goes to the following ports and places. Willington, Christchurch, Dunedin, Milford Sound, Hobart Tasmania, and Sydney Australia. Has anyone done a south seas cruise? Any recommendations for the 22 hour flight from Boston the help with the jet lag.

Take a look at 59.0. The only way I've discovered to deal with jet lag as far as a cruise is concerned, is to recover from it before you get on board. I.e., sign up for RVs precruise thing and don't expect to do much other than get back in whack. All of the other things suggested by world travellers may apply, e.g., no alchol, lots of sleep, light meals, lots of liquids other than liquor may help but they've never worked for me. I've been to New Zealand and Austrailia several times and the only thing that has ever worked for me is a couple of days to get my body reoriented. |
