80.0. "Sailing on the Norway in April" by CLUSTA::RITTER (Donna D. Ritter) Tue Feb 07 1989 18:57

My husband and I are sailing on the Norway on April 1rst to the
Caribean. Any thoughts on whether we can leave valuables - such as
cameras etc. in our rooms? I've heard great things about the Norway and
    am real excited....

We are going on the Norway March 25th. On other cruises I have left
the camera etc in the room but I generally leave them in a locked
suitecase. Don't leave money in the room. For jewerly etc. these
items can be locked in the ships safe. Just go to the pursers desk
for this service. Have fun and post a note in the NORWAY notes no.36
upon your return so we can compare our experiences.

I've never had anything taken on any of the cruises I've been on
and I do hide my camera in my room. In fact there was only one
time I'd ever heard about anyone having something stolen from
their cabin and the 'thief' turned out to be a passenger who
had run up a $700 bar bill and was desparate. He was caught
    by the ship's security.

Sailed on the RCCL Nordic Prince. No problem. Left things like
the goods we bought, camera, even my walet on the desk. Look if
someone is going to get into your room, its too small to take too
long to go over the whole thing. Our room stuward was A++. He
just "knew" what to do where and when.
