69.0. "Disneyworld/Cruise" by TIGEMS::BEALAND () Fri Jan 20 1989 17:18

My family and I are interested in taking a Florida vacation,
specifically to Disneyworld and also try to combine a cruise also.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a specific time of
year that would be cheaper to travel as there is six of us.

    Thanks,

It depends a lot on what you want to do. Premier cruise lines (the official
cruise line of WDW), have a couple of possibilities. They offer a one week
holiday with either a three or four day cruise to the Bahamas and the
remaining three or four days at WDW/Epcot including accomodations and a
three day passport to the parks. If you reserve six months in advance, they
will get you accomodations at one of the Disney properties for no additional
cost. They definitly have staterooms that accomodate five people on board
their ships but I'm not sure about six. You'd probably have to book two
staterooms. There's not a really significant difference between their on
and off season prices but you can save a little by going off season which
is approximately not Christmas week, not president's week, not Easter, and
not summer. If you want more, like a week long cruise and a week in
Orlando, you would have to work this out with you travel agent. The "free"
air that most cruise lines offer won't apply since they require that you
fly there on the day of the cruise and return home the day the criuse ends.
I also believe that with any other cruise line you will probably have to
book two staterooms. That may be exactly what you want anyway. Put your four
kids (I assume that you are talking about your wife and four kids) and have
a stateroom for your wife and yourself alone. While I don't know of any
packages that provide this sort of thing, your travel agent should be able
to work out a fairly good deal on something like the above.
