57.0. "HONEYMOON CRUISE INFO" by MAMTS1::DSCHAEFFER () Wed Dec 21 1988 17:12

I'm new to the notes files, however, have found this one to be
    informative and helpful!

I'm getting married in May and am planning a honeymoon cruise.
My fiance' has booked a cruise on RCCL "Song of Norway". Has anyone
been on this ship? If so, what can we expect? I know that the
food is fabulous on all cruises and our itinerary (San Juan, St.
Thomas, etc.) will be enjoyable. I'm curious to know what the ship
is like (besides the brochure), the staff, etc., etc., etc.

Anything anyone can offer will be appreciated!

Also, the place where we booked our cruise saved us quite a bit.
If anyone is interested, the agent is South Florida Cruises (they're
either in Daytona or Fort Lauderdale, I think the latter). I don't
have the phone no. handy, but will be glad to provide it!

I will be interested in how you like this cruise. I almost (not
quite) have my husband convinced to take another cruise, and we
are interested in this one. We would rather sail out of San Juan
than Miami because we were both seasick the whole time we were in
the Atlantic on the Song of America, but we felt fine once we entered
    the Caribbean.

57.2Song of Norway is great !CADSE::YELTONDon Yelton, CADSE, CTC1-2/K4Wed Jan 11 1989 01:0911
Although I believe previous notes have discussed the Song of Norway,
I will repeat what I've said before. My family has taken three cruises, all
with RCCL, and our favorite was the Song of Norway. It is relatively small
and the service you get is excellent somewhat more so because it is a smaller
ship. All RCCL ships are first rate for the price and we quite frankly enjoy
the ship more than the ports.

	Congratulation and enjoy your honeymoon.....

57.3Wish I was back on board!DEBUG::KONEILWed Jan 25 1989 19:1129
I am new to noting so bear with me.

My wife and I went on a cruise on the "Song of Norway" for our
5th anniversary and had a fantastic time. We sailed out of Miami
and cruised the Western Carribean, so I can't add any information
regarding your ports-of-call. I can however tell you that we both
thought the service was outstanding and that the staff and crew
could not have made us feel more welcomed or pampered.

The one thing that really impressed my wife and I was that the RCCL
thought of everything, and I mean everything. They will help you
to plan your day in each port-of-call, daily ship board activities,
transportation to and from the ship, special parties, shipboard
activities,,,,, so on and so forth. Or if you want they will let
you plan (or not plan) things for yourself. The real beauty of
the cruise is that you can do whatever you want even if that means
sitting by the pool and doing nothing.

The cabins on the "Song of Norway" are small but don't let that
bother you since you won't spend very much time there anyway. The
common areas on board more than make up for the lack of size in
your cabin. The main dinning room is spacious as are both show
lounges and the open deck areas around the pool and the sports deck.

I could go on forever, but I won't.

Needless to say I would go back in a minute and I wish I could.
Have a great time and enjoy, I'm sure you will.

57.4NOTHING BUT THE BESTNPOGRP::L_WALSHWed May 03 1989 20:309
I was on the SONG OF NORWAY last October and it was FANTASTIC!
The staff is very friendly and attentive. If you are honeymooners
you will probably be seated in the diningroom with other newly
weds. When we went, we were at a table with 3 honeymoon couples
and got full advantage of the extra attention and service.
There may even be a few surprises for you along the way. The
ship isn't as big as some of their others but they more than
make up for that with the atmosphere.
          HAVE A GREAT TIME!!

What is the age range on the Norway? (20's, 30's, 40's, etc.)

I'd be interested to know because my travel agent told me that I
would be suprised at the number of people in the 20's and 30's age
    group.

The age range on our cruise in December was 1 - 85 or so. Since the
Norway carries so many folks there is always a large number in all
categories. Your travel agent is absolutely correct about the 20s, 30s,
    and 40s.

One thing to keep in mind. It is not necessarily people in your own
age group that will contribute the most to your cruise experience.
You'd be surprised what the older folks are capable of once
    they get on a ship.

Have a great time on the Norway!

There was a C+W night out on the pool deck and around 11:30 there
was this little old lady cutt'n the rug big time! She ran down
two of thses big "good ol' boys". On a ship the size of the Norway
a 200+ in each age group is EASY. The ship is liad out so that
the "theme" of each nite-spot will catier to each group and not
be too crowded, unless of course the is some special event.

    	Good luck
