7.0. "Sea Escape Cruise?" by DECLB9::CHAN () Mon Aug 08 1988 17:37

    Have anyone been on a Sea Escape Cruise? I am planning for a ten
    days vacation at Orlando and want to take two to three days for
    a cruise to Carribean mainly for sight seeing. I am not the type
    for beaches, but for adventure and excitement.

    Thank you for any input.

    In February I went on a Sea Escape Cruise and really enjoyed it.
    I went on the Scandinavian Star out of St. Petersburg, they have
    planned activities and not much time for rest. But it was worth
    it and I would do it again

    I was under the impression the Sea Escape cruises are 1 day only
    cruises (read: not overnight). Is this incorrect?

-Andy (who's often wished to go on one to do a little gambling... :-)

    I haven't been on this cruise, but they do offer cruise for more
    than one day.

    After I have read note 5.*, I am trying to pick between Carvanil
    and Sea Escape. Can someone help me out and give me some advice?

    I have finally decided to cruise on Carvanil -- Maroi Gras. It
    looks more fun and have better schedule that fits me.

7.6CRUISE FOR A DAYSALEM::CBEAULIEUTue Sep 06 1988 19:566
    I went on a day long Sea Escape cruise a few years ago. It left
    Miami at about 8:00am and went to Freeport Bahamas for the day,
    returning to Miami at about 11:00pm. It was a lot of fun, a good
    way to see if you'd like either a cruise or the Bahamas. Only one
    complaint though, we spent a lot of time standing in line. In the
    morning, lines prior to boarding, customs in and out of Freeport...

    One question.

    Do they allow kids on the cruise?

    I am leaving for Florida on 2/25/89 for one week. My sister-in-law
    and I would like to take a 2 day cruise from St. Petersburg. Does
    anyone have any information on a good cruise that they may have taken?
    I would appreciate any help with this. I hope we can still book
    something.

    Thanks.

7.11How about out of Boston? PANE::DEANEd DeanWed Aug 22 1990 18:3411
  I know that this is an old topic but I did not want to start a new one on the
same idea. My wife and I are trying to plan a cruise for out 20th aniversary.
I had planned on a week but finances dictate a much shorter cruise :(.

I have also seen references to the AMEX that DEC uses for corporate travel. Has
anyone here had any experience with them? Will they book a cheap cruise? I am
looking for something under $1000. total for the two of us.

 Thanks,

Ed
7.12Good travel agent in BillericaGEMINI::GIBSONThu Aug 23 1990 14:1126
    I don't know anything about AMEX for personal travel. I deal with
    a travel agent in Billerica, MA, Marge Fudge at Liberty World Travel.
    (508)667-8388.She just booked me on the Sun Viking for March 17, 1991.
    For some reason, although that is peak season, that one trip is a 12%
    discount versus a 5% discount for the rest of March if booked 6 months in
    advance. I had been considering a trip earlier in March, but she told me
    about the discount on this particular cruise. So she saved me some money,
    I'm going at about the same time, and she's getting a good commission. I
    have been dealing with her for about 10 years, so she knows my taste
    and makes appropriate recommendations. She has yet to steer me wrong.

    RCCL has 3 and 4 day cruises to the Bahamas on their new ship, the
    Nordic Empress. I think there are trip reports about this ship else-
    where in this file. Depending on when you want to go, there are
    cabins as cheap as 495 per person for three nights. Possibly there are
    individual cruises with unadvertised bigger discounts like the one I
    found. It's worth checking out.

    If you call Marge, please mention my name. She likes to keep track of who
    referred new customers to her.

    Good luck, I'm sure you'll find a good trip. We just celebrated our
    20th this year, too.
