    I'll agree with a previous noter....I like Phil Mickelson to win,
    although a win here for Norman would be nice!

2021.4Late picks but sincere honesty!BRAT::LEARYLet me go on.Like a blister in the sunFri Jun 16 1995 14:5418

    After one round 10 players broke par...Price in the lead by one
    over Simpson with Norman and Mickelson somewhere close. I can't
    wait to catch some of the Open this weekend. I'd have to say that
    Pavin and Faldo were early picks of mine with Norman up there too.
    Of course I want Corey over the blokes from across the river but
    there is just something empathetically appealling about Norman.

    Tough call this weekend for some Dead Heads out there...drive to
    Vermont or stay on the Island for the tourney. No brainer for me
    though...

		Am I a prognasticator or what, don't I win something for
		win and place? :-)

	Anyway I was really rooting for Norman after the 3rd round, he played
	some great golf, but Sunday he got some real bad breaks and the putts
	just would'nt drop for him, and he hit some great looking putts that
	shoulda went in but did'nt.

	Corey, what can you say, he made the shots that a champion has to make
	down the stretch to win a major, just a fantastic performance. The
	par saver on 17, and, of course, the 4 wood approach at 18 were what
	really won him the tourney. I really like Pavin, cause he's about my
	height, and like him, I'm not too long off the tee, and I just found
	out, that like me he's a NY Giant fan. Congrats Corey you earned it.

	BTW I thought that the normally poor NBC coverage was very good, and
	very balanced between putting and full shots, I thought Johnny Miller
	was pretty choked up there right at the end, talking about Corey being
	the smallest, and still being able to win the Open. On the bad side
	I just can't take Trumpy as a golf analyst (barely as a football
	analyst). Dick Enberg tried a little too hard to dramatize things that
	did'nt need any extra milking (there was plenty of drama) but the rest
	of the guys did a great job, and all in all it was an enjoyable
	telecast.

2021.6how are you at the ponies?!?!?!?MKOTS3::tcc051.mko.dec.com::CORRIGANMon Jun 19 1995 22:3910

	case, that close!!!

	...now about the 5th race at the Rock tomorrow!!! ;^)

2021.7I better stick to golf...TEAM01::TURCOTTEOh King eh? very nice...Tue Jun 20 1995 13:256
	I grew up in upstate NY, not far from Saratoga Race Track, I've gone
	there a fair bit, but I have never, repeat never come out ahead, so
	the ponies have not been good to me.
