2088.0. "Medicus" by FABSIX::A_ESPERTI () Wed Jun 05 1996 18:25

    Has anyone had any success using the Medicus? Thats the club thats
    hinged three quarters down the shaft and breaks with a improper swing.

    	Yes, I have been using the Medicus for about 2-3 years. Find
    	it very helpful as a tempo warm up club in the parking lot
    	before the start of a round. Also use it about twice a month
    	at the range as a check point. The best use I found for it is
    	with the/a swing master device. The swingmaster helps with the
    	basic turn geometry and the medicus with the release.

    Yes, I've got a Medicus, basically a five iron with a hinge in the
    shaft. It's a great tool to get rhythm in your swing. As you proceed
    in your swing if any motion is out of the swing plane, the club will
    release and render your wing to failure. If your swing plane is
    correct, you should be able to hit this club as any other five iron.

    Another aspect of the club which becomes interesting, if at any point
    in your swing you tend to muscle your swing by over swinging, you are
    most likely going to go out of your swing plane and the club will
    release. To me this means a good swing is more important than a
    force swing and this club will prove that to anyone who tries.

    Good luck, and swing smoooooth.
