2058.0. "Heated driving range in Northboro" by XLIB::MADSEN () Wed Jan 10 1996 18:04

Has anyone tried the new outdoor/heated driving range at routes
9 and 20 in Northboro? I'm thinking about trying it, as soon as i
get some time. Is it really heated? I heard there were only about
7-8 tees. $ ?, times? someone said the pro shop was good (whatever
THAT means). They were working on a pitching area when I stopped by
    last summer.

I was there once last summer and saw the plan. Under the pro shop
there's an area where one drives from during the winter. There are
heaters in there -- not sure how well they work, but one friend who
was there a month ago said it was cold. Buckets were, I think, $5.50
(compared to ~$4).

I think their pitch was that they had enough balls to last the winter
because (a) they had many (30,000?), and (b) long-term ground-covering
snow is actually rare in NE, so they can periodically retrieve balls
during the winter.

Good luck to 'em *this* winter!

yup, $5.50 is a lot for a bucket, course depends on how BIG the bucket..
Stopped by there late sunday afternoon (after the golf dome) saw a
couple of guys hit'g. Maybe check it out on Friday (supposed to be
warm). golf shop has no lounge, i like my "anti frez" after a bucket
    or two.
