1833.0. "Snowball Golf Tournament?" by NOVA::FINNERTY (Sell high, buy low) Tue Feb 01 1994 14:49

I've heard that there are some 'golf simulators' around that enable you
to play various courses (Pebble Beach, etc). I understand that there's
    one in North Chelmsford somewhere.

Anyone in the Mass - N.H. area interested in a Winter tournament?

PrecisionGolf located in N. Chelmsford, MA 180 Middlesex St.
has the simulators (3) . Beware, they have leagues every night
of the week except for Friday night.

Putting is a joke. You putt on a small lightning quick carpet in
front of you. The simulator will indicate from which position
to putt from. You will face many awkward putts.

Still, it's good to get out and swing the clubs once in awhile to
keep the feel of the club and to excercise those golf muscles.

sure... I'd be interested in a winter tourney
1833.3FREE::GOGUENIs it spring yet?Wed Feb 02 1994 16:129
Yeah, don't bother putting -- if the computer tells you to putt from Y
    or Z, take a 3-putt; A-E is a 1-putt; everything else is your average
    2-putt....

You get more holes played that way too......

    :-)

Merrimack (NH) Bowling Center offers Simulated Golf. There are three
playing bays available and I'm not sure about week-day leagues. I
    assume they are going on.

Jim's getting restless, and it's only Ground Hog Day... Did that
rotten rodent see his shawow again?

I played Mona Launi (sp?) at Par-T in Manchester last Sunday. It's
fun, but definitely a novelty. At least you get to hit real golf balls
with your own clubs. Don't think I could bring myself to play more
than a couple of times a year.

If you play, definitely avoid putting as it takes away from the fun of
the simulation. Calculate what you think is fair for 1-3 putts, plug
it in, and move on to the next hole.

(Shot a 93 from the pro tees. (got an 11 on one hole (3 lost balls
from the tee) on the back nine. Gee, maybe it's more accurate than I
    originally thought.))
