1785.0. "Brokden Driver - Taylor Made Titanium Shaft" by CALS::CHOI (Yung Choi MRO1-3/C8 297-2815) Thu Sep 30 1993 12:06

Hi All;

    Could you give a quick help?

    This past Sunday morning, yes under a pouring shower,
    I made a beautiful tee shot with my almost 5 year old
    Taylor Made Driver. When I tried to cover it, imagine
    what happened, all I could see was that my driver head
    had been broken and danglling at the end of the shaft.
    I am not that kind of strong man to break it. I am mearly
    5 foot 10 inches and weight only 160 pounds with NO muscle.
    And I have not abused it at all.

    This is a brand of Talor Made with a Titanium Shaft
    Regular Flex. I bought it about 2 weeks shy of 5 years ago
    from Far Corners Golf Club located at Boxford, Ma.

    Does the manufacturer give any warrantee?
    Where should I go to fix it?

    I will appreciate your quick help.

    Thank you.					- Yung

    I doubt the warranty would still apply. I'd call Ed Banks, In
    Arlington, Mass. He's a factory authorized repair guy for nearly
    everyone.

    Did the shaft snap, or the hosel ?

    I am very interested to hear this about Taylor Made i know many
    people who play the club and some are club throwers!

    Its the first time i have heard anything like this.

    Please elaborate on the damage,

    Thanks,

    My partner in the Golf league had TWO TMs drivers with Titanium shaft
    where the shaft bent (You could see the head slightly "closed". And
    no he didn't throw or hit the club against anything). One was brand
    new. He got his money back for that one. For the second one he
    replaced it with a non-TM origianl shaft.

1785.4Taylor Made repaired it with apology in TWO weeks!!!CALS::CHOIYung Choi MRO4-1/H21 297-2815Mon Oct 18 1993 11:1217
    I sent my broken TM driver to Taylor Made on Oct 2
    thru regular US Postal Service (my proshop recommended.)
    It cost me $4.10.

    Surprisingly, I received my driver back on Oct 15th
    a brand new Titanium shaft (of course it is a new
    kind named as TFT/R - Twist Flex Titanium Regular
    flex) with a letter saying;

	"... I want to apologize for any inconvenience
	 this may have caused you... Quality is our number
	 one priority at Taylor Made, but occasionally a
	 defect occurs..."

    I am very impressed the way they treated.

    For your curiosity...			- Yung
