Great golf viewing down here in Oz this past weekend, with the Johnnie Walker 
Classic from Royal Melbourne by day, and the Sun City Million Dollar challenge by
night.

21 year old Robert Allenby lead from pillar to post to record his second victory
as a pro in the JWC. He turned pro less than 12 months ago after a distinguished 
amateur career, which saw him finish a strong second in last years Australian
Open on the same Royal Melbourne layout. He has all the shots, and the head to
go along with it. He gets a start in next weeks Johnnie Walker World Championship
in Jamaica, so keep an eye on him. He's being hailed as the best thing since the
Shark, but lets not put the moxy on him, huh?

Another guy to keep an eye on is South African Ernie Els. He led the Sun City
tourney after two rounds, but blew out with a 77 in the last round to finish
tied for third. He won a few tournamanets in SA last year, and also had a pretty
good showing in this years British Open. He's 23 years old, and been described as,
you guessed it, the best player  from SA since Gary Player. Oh, by the way, 
South African David Frost won the Challenge, which must make him the best player 
from SA since Ernie Els. Oh well.

Last but not least, look for 2 more Aussies in next years US tour. Neale Smith 
and Brett Ogle finished in a 5 way tie for first in the recently completed tour 
card school. I don't know much about Smith, but I have followed Ogle a few times,
and I really believe his game is taylor made for the US tour. He hits the ball
very long and very high, and he should do very well on the target golf stadium
courses they play in the US. If his putting stays solid, look for big things from
Brett.

So who are the guys to look for from the US next year? I have been living down
here for several years now and we don't get extensive coverage of the US tour,
outside the majors, and any pro-ams the Kerry Packer is playing in. I did
get a chance to follow US players Lee Janzen, Andrew Magee, and Duffy Waldorf in
last weeks Aussie Open at the Lakes here in Sydney. Duffy challenged, but found
the drink on 15 Sunday afternoon to fade away. He did impress however. He is
a fairly large human that Duffy.

Are there any others out there ready to come to the fore?

    You're lucky being near such a great course ! If I could play any two
    places outside the U.S. that I havent't, they'd be Royal Melbourne, and
    the Old Course @ Sunningdale.

I read  on  the  summary  scoreboard  that  Faldo  and  Nick  Price  were
disqualified in the Sun City Tourney. Anybody there who knows why?
