1497.0. "hole in one conte$t" by ODIXIE::RHARRIS (Ultralight forever) Fri Apr 03 1992 17:33

    *******************HOLE IN ONE CONTEST*********************************
Near the DEC office in Alpharetta Georgia, there is a driving range
that is having a hole in one contest. It is $1.00 a ball. It is
135 yds down hill. If you make a h1, you win $1,000,000.00. That'
righ, one million smackaroos! Otherwise, of the four day contest,
first place is a toyota, second place is a golf trip for 2 to pebble
beach, and third is a John Deere riding mower.

I went at lunch today to practice the shot, and it is a pw & 135 yds
    downhill. Looking forward for 4-15, 16, 17, 18.

Wrong Place - Wrong Time, that's me. Went out yesterday to the local
course and hit my first HOLE - IN - ONE. 137 yds real easy 7 iron.
Boy, what I could have done with a million bucks.

CONGRATS on your hole in one. I have been hitting at this hole in one
contest, and below are more details.

For three days, you have to qualify for the final round, Saturday.
To qualify, you have to hit the ball 110 yds, not 135, and have the
ball stop within a 3 ft circle of the pin, that has been painted white.
Once you qualify, you go to the final on Saturday, and if you get a h1
on Saturday, you get the money.

Any way, I spent about $50 on this contest, landed all around the white
circle, but never in it. The ball actually hit the ground in the
circle a few times, but rolled out.
