1395.0. "Looking for course(s) in San Francisco area" by FMTACT::MCKIE () Tue Nov 12 1991 12:11

    I will be in the San Francisco area for a few days and was wondering if
    anyone could recommend a golf course or two either in the San Francisco
    area or Marin (sp) county area.

    Thanks,
    Brian

    There are many courses available in the bay area. How much do you
    want to spend for a round ? In San Francisco a good bet is Harding
    Park (muni, good course, reasonable priced) or Gleneagles (9 holes,
    links style, reasonable fees ) or Lincoln Park (great views, cheap )
      In Marin you could try Peacock Gap (semi-private) Petaluma GCC (also
    semi-private) or San Geronimo (public, $30-40).
      Across the bay, there are several interesting public courses like
    Tilden Park, Lake Chabot GC, Willow Park, Skywest, Tony Lema, Franklin
    Canyon, Las Positas, Sunol Valley. All these courses are within an hour
    of San Francisco plus there are many more that I haven't mentioned.
    Just check the yellow pages.
       It was near 80 degrees yesterday so be prepared to play in 50 - 75
    degree weather and we are entering our rainy ( ? ) season.
